Cool! Maybe more details and some color would be good now. Like a greenish metalick, bug-like armor.

thx for the response

SarN: i didn't have ResEvil in mind. never played the game, or u mean the movie (which is great imo)

Avatar: nice to get feedback from the guru of 2d. u know i closely follow your work. details...yes, that is quite a difficult part for me, never know where and what to put.
u couldn't help out a little:roll:?
what about your work, u only do your 'heavy metal' genre or also some different stuff?

Well, I wouldn't define my work as "heavy metal", but yes I'm a fantasy fan, especialy that this stile offers the largest horizont for creation. To answer to your question, I can draw mostly everything. Some years ago I was a sucker for science fiction and I was drawing mostly robots and stuff.
As for your details, wel, put them wherever you feel they would look fine. Maybe small spikes - not very pointy- some cracks and some dent in his exoscheleton, a model - like to warn every adversary "stay away, I'm deadly", shadows...

I think it looks cool. I cant draw at all so i really do admire what you've done. I think avatar is right tho, most organic things tend to have slight flaws. Like mebbe add a couple of scars or summat so it looks like its been in a fight or two, mebbe crack a couple of those claws ;)

i'll take some time in the weekend to work on those details and post an update.

any suggestion for colouring? i thought of some brownish/greenish skin, or maybe more aggressive colours?

The only colours i can suggest are a dark red with a lizard/dinosaur skin. I mean thats the image i got in my head when i looked at your drawing ;)

Looking good, neat concept.

One tip: When you're bored sometime get a good book on drawing from the library and read all about perspective and foreshortening and horrible things like that, they are hard (guess what I'm learning at the moment...) but really help add depth and life to your drawings.

hi stingray.
thx for the tip, and yes, i am already reading some books concerning drawing. got my self some books on anatomy, figure drawing ... lots of stuff on the web.
recieved just few weeks ago 'digital texturing and painting' and 'digital lightning and rendering' books. they take quite some of my time in the moment.
but pls if u could name me some good books on drawing and perspective, let me know, would really apreciate it.
some1 might check out this link too:
portrait artist (http://www.portrait-artist.org/)
some need stuff on portrait drawing. (no need to get too deep into it though)
well back to my books again:)

Hrm, not sure on many specific books, I'm only learning myself. The one I'm working through at the moment is Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain by Betty Edwards. It doesn't have a great deal on perspective but as a general intro to drawing I'd highly recommend it, as long as you don't mind it being a little drawn out in places.

Hey xeltestic,

I like that animal!
I know how to draw humans with the correct anatomy, but this is quite some other stuff.
It looks good, and if you are planning to make it in 3D, then I can't wait to see it :)

hi quail

nice to hear u like it. after 3 years break i really just started drawing more seriously, meaning reading stuff and really trying to improve myself by drawing every day.
but if ppl like some of my stuff i must be on the right way. :)

i might do a 3d version of this buddy, but pls be patient. so many projects going on right now (3danimation, webpage...)

im sure to send ya a pm when i get started with the model
cheers

I think that animal thingy would look GREAT done in 3D with some nice textures and a wicked face.
