Hey all,

wanted to create a thread to show my progress with this competition. My first comp on these forums so quite excited :)

I am going to create a type of snow worm creature something akin to the dune sand worms, but a bit smaller.

It has a hard shell like carapace which it uses to break the hard ice above it, and it constantly vents bio plasma from its face to weaken the ice to make its movement through the ice quick.

I will do a few concepts when I get home from uni tonight and hopefully begin the mesh in the next few days! Feedback and comments are of course very welcome!

All that is left is to day good luck to all :)

Here is my first quick concept! Not amazing I know but it took me about 10 mins quickly in photoshop!

Hopefully do a more detailed sketch tomorrow and then start modelling later this week!

What you guys think?

Welcome to the fray. I like you concept, sounds well thought out.

As far as your sketch goes, I think he could use maybe two more of the spindly legs all grouped together on each side, so he'd have six total, or maybe some radical mandibles.

Also, I'd like to note, I keep looking at your sketch and thinking your worm is dancing the hula. :D

haha noooooo! not a hula worm!! the arm and mandibles sounds like a good idea and yeah I will try and do a concept where he doesn't look like a giant dancing hula worm!!

Thanks for the feedback :D

Haha! you *******!! That made me laugh and kinda cry at the same time, my poor poor concept :P

Now i'm determined to do one that is kind of immune from "**** takery" But seriously very funny, sat here with my University mod team and they all appreciated it :D
