Hey everyone! I'm new on the forums, but what better way to get aquainted than join the fray. Here are the beginnings of my digital painting. I want to portray the snowman as a misunderstood being - perhaps just a collector, and as evil and brutal as any normal man who likes to hunt the wildlife that surrounds him.
Occasionally, an unfortunate mountain climber will climb a little too high, or a little too close to his den, and you know what happens next. Here's the base drawing.
CRITS WELCOMED.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I appreciate the feedback!
@Darkblast - The fireplace is a bit high. Will lower it. I was thinking all the fire in the painting would be ice - giving the overall painting a cool tone, but I'd like there to be warmth as well to balance it. Maybe the fireplace could be ice and the candle could be real fire to create a well lit and warm foreground?
Glass of wine - good idea! : ) Thanks everyone.

looool he seems to be some kind of billionaire of the Himalayas! Loved the idea of making him well dressed =D Perhaps you could make a closet with all the mountain climber's clothes behind him ;)
Great start, I want to see more =D

Behold...COLOR! Base color anyway. Opinions very welcome. Let me have it. I think there's a nice color harmony and balance to this scheme so far.

That's awesome. I can totally see him giving an elaborate speech on what the best year is for mountain climbers.
"Hmm, this '37 tastes a bit old..."

me thinks it's rather smart, he's enjoying taking human's stuff, even the camera!! hence explained the portrait haha
maybe if u push the background abit darker would make the depth more apparent?
