Hi all.

I've been following these contests already for a few months now, and i am really impressed with what i see being created by all the people here.
Also am really looking forward to see what people come up with this contest again.

For me this will be the first contest, and actually my first ever 3d model (so i hope i will get even close to finishing it)
Completely new to this whole thing, and just starting to get to know ZBrush now. So don't expect to much, seriously everything i will have to do right now, will be a first for me.
But its really for the learning and the fun anyway, and hopefully some people could help me out with some usefull comments and crits (all welcome :D)

Ok, here's the little concept i have sofar. The idea is a bulgy ferocious teethy clawy snow creature, clawing and eating its way through the ice and snow.

Lets see how far i'll get :)

Your concept looks really cool. I like the proportions (itty-bitty tiny legs and humungous arms)

Yay :D had a little time today, and have been strugglin a bit with ZSpheres (watchin the tut at pixologic the while doin it)

This is what i came up with sofar (and please all comments and crits are very welcome, i really want to learn!)

You need more geo in face/head regions. And forgot the tail.

Yeah, i also noticed the tail when i posted the picture here lol, will have to add it yet.

About the head, is it a good idea to make it into a subtool, so i can divide it more without affecting the rest of the body? (ilse i'm afraid i'll boost up the polycount for the body more than i actually have to)

Oh, and one more question, is the pose i used good enough for modeling, or should i be going for a more neutral pose? (straight arms legs etc)
I really have no idea yet, of what kind of trouble i could get for starting something like this wrong.

Today no time sadly enough, maybe tomorrow will be able to some more.

No time for modelling today either:(.. but had a little time to work on the concept for a bit.
Been thinkin about it, and want to make it a bit more interesting, giving it few more adapted features (not completely there yet, but will have a hard time finishing this on time anyway :) )

Added a boney spike to the elbows, so it will be able to scale icey (did i spell this right?) cliffs in the same manner that ice climbers do. Using the claws as axes, and the spikes as crampons to distribute and balance the weight.

Not sure yet if i have to go with fur or more kind of harder surface on the back. Although at this point i am favouring fur, because of the isolating and camouflaging effect it has in the cold and snow.

Next to this i am playing yet with the thought of maybe adding some small creature on the back, but also here i have doubts. Would this be within the rules of the challenge???
