Hey I'm new around here but I've decided to give this comp a go! I've decided to forgo the concepting and just go into the 3d stage since I'm very pressed for time due to school. I'm thinking Walrus..

Thanks guys!
I did another concept while listening to lecture in class :P the only thing is my scanner isnt working.. but I think it looks better ^^

Anyway I made a quick base mesh in max and started doing a basic shape. I think I will retopo now.

Great idea combining a walrus with a body builder. I like his teeth :) Will he get fins as well?

Cool! I just hope he doesn't stab himself in the chest with his teeth...

Martin_x: Thank you!

lampshadehead: Yeah Retopoing is a pain but I got through the first wave, but for some reason the process always pays off in large amounts

Sadone: Thanks, I'll add some fins just for you :)

Insania: Thank you :D

Thefamilyofblood: Heh that why he has a fat neck makes it hard to bend down :P, I'll make the teeth short so it seems more functional thanks for you're input.

Heres the Retopo!

Looks like the retopo went great. This guy certainly does look like he was born to laydown a beating. I'm not sure what's up with the knees, is he wearing knee pads?

Arkadius

I'm still working on the feet Lamps. So hold on I'll post one more update by today. :)

Did you write BMX on the upper left corner? Why would a giant walrus need a bmx on his back, in the land of snow?:D:D
Just kidding, great model, and i dig the walrus idea a lot. And i also am curious about the knees!

I wonder how will you do the textures.

good to see someone going the extra step and putting their model in an engine.

Buzzy
01-03-2010, 12:31 AM
I wouldn't quite call it an engine...looks like xNormal's model viewer. Not alot different than Marmoset or even Max's viewport with dx shaders.

Its a shame you couldn't finish. This model is really cool and has alot of style. Very nice work. Let's see it finished!
