Hello all,
And thanks to 3dtotal, for such a cool contest.
Im am not as good as any of you guys here,
so i join this contest to learn alot, and actelly make a picture, im satisfied with.
My first idea on this is to make somthing huge, who could only be made by gods. but this is just my first thought, might aswell be somthing completly diffrent
I wish you all the best luck, and i can`t wait to see all of your crazy entries for this one, and hopefully learn alot from you guys.
Btw. sorry for my bad english.
The best greetings

With a sunset like that and blue glow on the stones (which mean a special attention to lighting) it could be very nice. Watch out tough for the composition, there seems to be a lot of empty space on both sides.
And now the title make much more sense :D

Ok, sketched 2 others quick ideas down, i suck at it, but hope you`ll get a feeling of what i wants it to be.
The first sketch is a big rock giant, and only the Gods know what he have in mind, to do with that village in the background! Still thinking on a way this could be made diffrent, so it stills fits under the theme "gift to the Gods"
The second sketch is a man, who lives alone in the dessert, and found whatever he had in his house, to make him a latter, so he can reach the sky, and handle the Gods a small gift :) *note it is a stick man who stands in top of the whole bunch of funiters he used to make the ladder
I hope that i can stay with a concept tomorrow, and start some modeling!
Godnight all!

Ok, so i am hanging between 2 of my concepts, i will either go for my first sketch, and add some big stone golems, walking towards the stone, and add a small sacrafie table right in front of the stone.
Or then my 2nd concept, with a man in the dessert, climbing up all his stuff, towards a smale hole in the sky. And will try to make it a bit more cartonish then the 1st one.

Thank you, for you oppinion, much appriciated.:)
Been doing some virsualisation in 3ds max, and somthing insides me, just wants to make a big rock golem!
So i tryed to join 3 stones toghter, with some glow in the middle, and it kinda gives an idea what i want. So think im gonna stick with the first 1 too.
Will try come up with a drawin, which tells exactly ho i want it to look.
Thx

Hello all
I`am soon done with my stone golem, just need to change a little on the model, and work a bit with the texture, might try to add some blue lines, to indicate some light sparks in the texture aswell.
So if anyone have some good ideas to make some light sparks on my golem,
im listening :)
Thanks

I prefer the one with the close up stone guy.

I prefer the second one with only one golem and the guy praying before him. The composition is better and it would be less empty then the first one.

Hello
Havent worked so much on my image, as i havent been happy with my image. But yesterday i came up with a new location, im more happy about.
I know that there isent alot time left, but i wanna give it a try.
The man needs alot of work, need a head, and some feets and so on. But i wont spend to much time on detailing him, as he is suposed to stand on the rock bridge, far away from the camera, so they wont be noticed anyways.
The 3dtotal uploader is messing up my red light, so here it is in a better version:

If im being honest, it looks too red it needs some other colour i think to bring a bit of variety to the scene and to add to the sense of scale.

Thank you

Not too bad really, for the lave i'd add more colouration some oranges, darker tones of red etc and the same for your rock man is currently lit with a single red light, add a couple more with less intensity with orange, yellowy tints to give it more variations etc. I'd personally add the lantern flames in post with photoshop, for now you could have some omni lights as placeholders which will actually give off the light you need from the lanterns then it'll look better when you add the flames in post etc. The rock texture for the landscape on the right hand side seems a little too high and low res but that can me changed easily. Your rock guy looks about right, so just work on the lights and the lava etc and it'll rock (excuse the pun) lol :)

@chunkymunky Thanks alot for your feadback, much apriciated. You are right, it will give more life into the image. im gonna add that in the next update. Cheers :)
I havent added much since, did a bit more texture, and added some fire aswell. I will try to see what result im gonna get in photoshop with the fire, as chunkymunky said, but my skills is very limited there, so lets see :)
The texture in the imageses may change, especely on the man, might give him some more cloth aswell.
The 3dtotal uploader still messes up my qualety, so i`am still using Imageshack.

Worked on the lightning as chunkymunky told me too, and i think it`s much better now, so thank you chunkymunky, much apriciated.
Ive also working on some textures, and will have to get a new texture, for the cliff the man is standing at, as it dosent work atm.
Hopefully am i ready to take this into photoshop the next few days, and do the rest of the small changes, so i can finnish before the deadline.

Lava splotch, and maybe add another spot coming from center down border of the image (in front of golem's legs onto the floor) to the golem's face. And a smooooth low backlight.
KIU, like your athmosphere, good luck!

Hello washka, thanks for your comment, ive tryed to do some of the things you said, and it worked quite well. Thank you.
I think i have my final image ready, and here it is:
http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/2576/frdig.jpg
But i do have a problem with my size of the .jpg as it can maximum be 100kb, to be uploaded at 3dtotal. But if i drop the size that down, my image is in very poor qualety. Any way to solve this ?
Thanks

If you are using Photoshop, you can go in file and then do ''Save for Web and devices'', it greatly reduces the size of the file while keeping a lot the quality.

Yup Save for web and devices in file menu. Rememberto save as jpg though. Forum wont accept png format.

Just use imageshack and you won't have to worry about all that.
