I am just doing this for fun. I am not sure if I will have the time to finish this and submit something on due date but I figured I should throw my 2 cents into the mix. I will update as often as I can.

Here is the cliff notes version of my idea...
In a super advanced technological world, computer data has become divine. Binary code has become the backbone and life-line of civilization. The greatest gift and sacrifice a person can make is to convert their body, mind and soul into raw computer data.

I just sat down and started modeling. All I know is that I want to do something bio-mechanical. My organic modeling is seriously lacking and I would like to work on that. I am still just fleshing out ideas and dumping them into this model. Don't be surprised if at some point I scrap the model and start all over while keeping the same idea...I tend to do that...lol

Thanks wargrafix I figured i'd go with a sacrifice as opposed to an alter or monument. I figured humans sacrificing themselves for something THEY created was cruel and ironic.

Great idea, kinda like the ultimate matrix where body and soul are blending to raw data :). Really nice start already, this has got soo much potential, best of luck and even if you don't finish you've at least had fun doing it which is half the fun in my opinion :)

Lol i agree chunkymunky. Thats why I love competing here on "3D Total" (insert name plug). Seems like all of you guys are much more light hearted and just easy going. The competitors (you all) seem to just have fun with these competitions by encouraging, and helping out one another. Unlike some other forum sites (will remain un-named), where everyone seems soo uptight and full of themselves. They take competitions WAAAAYYYY too seriously, when its supposed to just be a fun learning experience.

So I switched over, besides I am just hoping to one day score an official 3D Total T-Shirt... so I can wear it to bed...lol

Thank you MightyMeg I think I am starting to get a clear idea of which direction to take this project in. I am going to be making some significant changes to the model within the next few days.

Thanks stoneking. I will try my hardest to finish this. Its just that I have alot on my plate right now. Between working freelance, an 8hr a day 3d modeling job for a simulation lab, a side project with other industry pros, and finally being a 3d illustrator of a comic book studio. I will dedicate whatever free time i have to working on this model.

BTW i am using 3D Studio Max 2010 and plan on using ZBrush 3.5 for some finer details.

Whoa! Awesome! you're really far along. I love the work you've done thus far on this. If this is what you have already, can't wait to see whats coming. I like the concept too, very original. I'm thinking you should dig deep into some sci-fi images and movies for reference on color later on (I suggest the Matrix, the lighting in Zion is very industrial and could fit this well... just a suggestion :D). I like this idea too much to not give suggestions. Keep it up! This is gonna be great!

AHHHHH behemoth get outta my head. The final look i was going for was the landing docks on Zion....except this would be on the surface, instead of underground.

I plan on having the woman's physical body be inside a pod thats resting between the shrine's hands. Her floating "data" would be a hologram-like projection that's breaking apart into binary code. In the distance you would see a cityscape and the clouds would have faint and subtle binary code in them.

I would best describe this as, imagine if one of the holo-decks from star trek began malfunctioning and you could see the raw data from the photonic lights that make up the holograms.

I used "Greeble" to do the basic blocks of the buildings. I got the shapes and look i was going for. I plan on going in and personalizing the buildings and adding some life to them.

I am also trying to figure out a good composition that will show off the main model and the city as well. I am still just trying out some things, comments and crits are welcomed.
