I would add some little rocks, and play a bit with specular texture for your actual rocks.

a few clouds in the distance will help balance emptiness in the scene.

Dark, maybe you need more lightning. Like the raptor.

Although your lighting is indeed very dark I actually quite like it because it gives it an early morning feel to it. I think you'd need alot more elements in the scene this big for have a wide angled shot, I really think this late in the game you should get a closer angle possible close to the kneeling man with a raptor behind him ready to pounce of something and a little subtle DOF would transform this scene and you'd have a winning formula then. You'll need to crack on though, the deadline is this Wednesday :)

Or something you could do to fill that wide shot is to add a full pack or raptors, one or two closer to the cameras could be interesting.

hey there.
In my opinion, the camera angle you had in the post where you said "time is running.....and im struggling...." was better then the last one. The reason is, that in the last one, you are more likely an inspector of the events. But in the first one, which i like better, you are actually in the scene, like the viewer of the picture would be one of the raptors.
So i think that camera angle (without modification) could be a good choice too.
Depending on what feeling you are after.
I'm not sure about the clouds either. I suggest you using real life reference for that, because right now, its too much, and too many contrast. If they are clouds, the shouldn't be all over the place. If its fog, then its too dark, and it has too many contrast in it. Fog has a more milky feel to it.

The waters position on the picture i said earlier is also far better then the one you posted lastly, because it looks like, that the water going to flood the scene. If that's what you are after, then okay, looks alright. But otherwise you should drop the level of the water down drastically. Because now, the rules of perspective doesn't really apply in your scene.

Other than this, you did a great job, and you are improving really fast. Keep it up.

chunkymunky,MightyReg,Cordero....thank you guys...these are really helpful tips and i hope that i will make this better....i liked the idea of the raptor ready to pounce the man...coz that will give an action to the scene..but the thing is ill have to remove that rock tower for making a clear shot of sea...any ideas about placing that tower?.....
and am i allowed to use real clouds image instead of painting them like fog?

I don't think using real clouds in your image is a problem, after all matte painters in this comp use a lot photographic sources in their works.

thanks mightyreg for the reply...that will certainly save my time a bit....
thanks again!

The cloudwork needs a little work. So far eveything in the piece is working well.

only suggustion is the water ripples'
there seems to be a lot going on
