Hello everyone,

When i first saw the title for this competition i immediatly thought of the most precious gifts people throught the times could offer to their gods : their life, heart, soul, love... Sometimes it was sacrifices, sometimes objects as offerings - but always these were symbols of something higher.

Therefore, I thought to make an image in which a young woman offers to the gods a rose - as a symbol of her heart; I want the character and the flower to appear as floating, in a pool of light, with no clue of space or time - to symbolize eternity.

I decided to model the character - my first atempt to model a female body...I just hope i'll manage something in the end :)
For now, these are the sketches i made for the character pose - I haven't decided yet which one to choose...

Comments and critics are welcom :)

love the classical poses and proportions, the bottom 2 are my favorites. Good luck with this, I'll be watching.

Thank you for the comments :). Yes, i am planning to make it a full 3d scene. At the moment, my progress is quite slow though with the modelling of the character :(
i intend to post some more work at the end of this week.

Very interesting sketches, you sketch almost like Da Vinci they are that stylised and beautiful. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the challenge :)

I have finished to model the hand so far; here is the wireframe ; as for the rest of her body , i am still working on it and haven't reached a stage which i like yet. I ve modelled the hand in 3ds max 2010. :)

hey there Alisor!
The sketches are awesome. Impressive style.
For the hand, i would say that next time, you might want to consider extruding the thumb from halfway between the downside, and the side-side of the hand. Because that is its natural place, and it will deform less, if you rig it.
Looking forward on the body model.

Concept sounds nice. And the initial modelwork is very good.

Thanks for the comments and advice :) - i do need a lot of advice since this is my first study of a female in 3d, and my first proper model. I have been working on the body of the character lately - it took a very long time - and i think i still need to tweak some bits and also to model the feet.
Here is the mesh - comments and critics welcome :)
I dont know what to do after this step though - i was planning to take it into zbrush, but i have never done anything in that software yet, only looked a bit at the interface - so i am not sure now....

I've gotta say foir a first time building a female human body you're not doing badly at all, there's still quite a way to go with the proportions and there's some bumps across the arms too, but really impressive for a first try, keep it up :)
