Hi guys!

This would be my first entry to speed modeling challenge, and second challenge in overall...as my friends often call me Speedy, guess this is the right place for me :)) (although the nick Speedy is because i run fast in basketball, and has nothing with 3d :) )

Anyways, have no idea when will get some time to get things started, but here is my first sketch.

I decided to go for something completely different than in the last challenge, for some cartoony style. The concept just represents the main idea, but the construction of the hidding place could actually change - the only important thing is to let it look unstable and overwhelmed until the end...and of course "Las Vegass" commercial type, for meat on the top :)
I think I can do this all in time, although I am still thinking about the leaves of the tree. Will find some quick solution when I begin, that's for sure :)

So, here is the concept, sorry for bad drawing, I made it in few minutes, with changed pen tip on my Intuos, still can't get used to this new one :)

Really nice sketch despite the line thickness I think it helps. I'll be watching this thread, kinda reminds me of something from the Monkey Island games, so i'm definately excited and interested to see where you take this :)

Now this is original haha. I love how you came up with that. Can't wait to see ya start modeling this out. Is this the concept your going with our just roughing out some ideas. I say go for it or maybe stay along the stay same theme.

He, That guy sure seems safe there ;).

I can see the neon colors in front of me, can be really interesting.

Ps: I actually liked the sketch (even though it isn't a masterpiece technically ;) ).

Aaaand here I go! ;)

This time won't wait for the last day as on the "Gift to the Gods" challenge, and in the end work on everything in hurry....
Actually, I thought that I'd have time to finish whole this picture in one breath, but again, everyday something new jumps out, so, probably I'll cut it in few pieces and do it day by day for half of an hour or smthn like that...
Soo...here is the start..not much to show, but again I want this thread to be vivid as the one I've had in last challenge, so that you have insight in how each part of the image was created...

And of course, any input from your side is priceless :)

Soo...here is the start...
As you see, I am aiming for some cartoony look of the model, so, everything will be modelled in that manner...I've started with the ground plane...here is what I have until now....
Hemisphere for the ground, few distorted spheres for the rocks, one small grass made and the one in the back...all in all, done very quickly..for about 10 minutes, and 10 more just for cloning and scattering...so...20 minutes for the beginning.. :)

Lovely clay render, nice lighting, really good start, keep going and get crackin' as there's not alot of time left now :)

Soo. small update is here...new 18, but let's say 20 minutes of quick work on pillars. Some boolean action, some edit poly modeling and there it is, entrance pillars are on. :)

5 more minutes for creation of the block and 10 more for arranging of all created so far...

Thanks Divi :)

Here, I decided to spare few more minutes before I go to sleep just to scatter blocks all around and put a top onto the lowest floor of retreat. As this was a day full of work...it actually took me more time than I've expected...around 15 minutes...but nevermind...the important thing is that it's slowly building up.

So..the update...

And the top of the tower in new 20 minutes!...makes around 110 minutes of work so far...
Most of the objects are just simple geometry and instanced blocks from below ;)

Next - one hour update...simple head of a black man as a holder for the platform...it should be made of stone, so I tried to make it as simple as it is, as well as I aimed for the cartoony look.

Totally agree with chunky there.. Turned out really fun :). Would love to see it textured, or at least with some multiple materials.
