This is my first competition. I am aiming for a low poly mesh to be used for the UDK. I'll be Using Photoshop CS4, 3DStudio Max, Zbrush, and the Unreal development kit.

Hi! I really love the sketch, it's awesome!

You said earlier, that you want to try out zspheres II.

Check out this link. There is the section called "Sketching with ZSpheres Basics". I think it would help you a lot, if you are willing to move on to 3.5 ;)

Good luck with it!

Oh I know how to use them, but I have my limitations when it comes to certain parts like hands and such. Its just I'm not comfortable enough to jump right into a competition with what I know. But I may use them soon...like when I get back from school, I may just go to town with zbrush 3.5

I decided against zshperes II for this challenge, but if I finish early I may enter the sculpting challenge, so I'll use them then.

Good start man, biggest issue for me is her feet are TINY.

**** eh, you're right. There is a lot of work to be done with this. I had to redo the clothing, I was soooo pissed about that. The power went out and studio max didn't recover the file.

I didn't have much time to work on this today, but it might be interesting to see the steps.

you may want to take a good look at the feet. They have a pointy, boxy feel to them, maybe try rounding them out a bit. Also, and this could just be the angle, but the feel look as if they are being pulled down.

Hey thanks a lot man, i'm gonna be fixing it right now. The actual sculpting is going really well. I'm going beyond my original sketch, and adding things to the clothes, Which I think is going to make this mesh stand out.

well I started sculpting this. I figured I'd show what I have thus far so when I post another one, you can see the difference. I am aware of the folds btw. This to me, is still a sketch. I go back and I polish everything in my work flow. It shows me what the mesh could look like.

Make sure the legs don't turn out to straight...

Larger screens would also be nice to see what is actually happening...

Thanks for the constructive crit.

As for the res, i'll make it bigger when I start adding the stiching, pockets, and patterns intend to do with this model I'm going to go beyond the sketch I had made for this, and really go to town on the sculpting/texturing. I want her to have a sort of ancient aztec looking costume, but still retain that Indiana Jones feel.

Sounds cool :).

But a bit higher res is still wanted as it shows a LOT more of your sculpting technique..
