I googled a few interesting photos and played a little with them in photoshop, trying to make something usefull for this competition. I´ve hit a dead end because it does not look like a jungle at all. :( It looks more like some old european forest. I´will play with it a little bit longer and add some more elements like ruins and such to see if it takes me somewhere. There are just to many branches to mask and integrate architectural elements. Thats what happens when you start a matte without concept or general idea. You become a slave of ref photos ;). If you have some ideas where to take this one, please tell.

Pretty cool effect although I would call it finished, there's alot more you could add into this scene yet including rock elements, lighting etc, but impressive so far :)

Thx for comment chunkymunky :). I decided to start all over again. Tried a few things with the first concept and it did not turned out interesting enough. Here is my second concept and this time i know what this should look like when finished.

Glad you like it Olivier. Here is a little update with a little more jungle feel to it. I am not shure should i go with this one or the first one with more rocks. Hard to decide.
Just rough integration and composition test. Ancient ruins to be added..

Cool stuff on the latest one. The first one was interesting but the second clearly could be interesting. The pillars look a bit to sharp though...

Nice update, you have your scene already.
Too much rocks ?
your talking about the pilars ?
It's really up to you... how do you feel your matte... depending of a lot of points : where and how you will build your aztec temple/city, additions of wild jungle and water, if you will use this pilars for architectural additions, etc...
the truth is that you have to try for knowing if your comfortable with it or no.
but clearly with your addition in the background, we can feel more the jungle.
your are in the good way !

Nice concept and update. The waterfalls make a neat visual path through the image. I personally liked the rock on the left, that you removed.

Didn´t touch this matte since last sunday. Here is a little update. Just added a castle and played with a mood a little. I must think of something to place in foreground and then start to blend and balance the colors. I know it´s too dark now. I will change that later of course.

I realy don't know about the church, but I like its structure.
Your waterfall add-on it's cool.
And I also don't know what to think about the two rocks in the middle.
It depends really in what you plan to do with it.
Let's see.
Very Good work for the moment. I like the scene, the mood.

I actualy like the castle.....
I like the castle too but there are not too meny medieval castles in the jungles around the world. Anyway here is one concept with a mayan/aztec pyramid.

Good progress, i like it. One thing you might consider is to move over the temple that's your focal point a little more to the left to improve the composition. Keep it up. :)

Hi There. I agree. The temple should be a little bit smaller perhaps and more to the left. My eye keeps going off the picture and i want to go to the right, but then the picture ends. Keep it going and hope you have enough time to finish it...

Got little time to work on this matte. I am moving to a bigger apartment next weekend and my workplace now reminds me of Hiroshima 1945. :) Hope i finish this one. Here is another update. Cloned water and some other stuff to be fixed...

brilliant, I love the composition of this piece. Everything is so detailed and fits in nicely.
although I would add a little more atmosphere in front of the castle and slightly desaturate the trees as well.

Jack.

Cool :).
The new additions and reworks looks real nice :) Not as messy at all any more, much more clean.
Awesome !

The tree in front of the camera is standing a little bit too much in the picture. My eye want to go to the left of it, bringing too much attention to the left. If you placed it different so that it closes the left side of the picture, the eye would focus more on the building. Its just something i feel at the moment. Positive critism :)

Really incredible composition. I also like the saturation and colors. Great job!
Cool final. All parts are look comlete and without any color errors.
Man, do you use specific filter in your work at final steps? My opinion: it kills some photorealism, be careful with it

Maybe take care of the left part of the foreplan tree.
I feel like the rocks are nude and the forest not really the same.
Excellent work and composition, the mood colours are great actually.

This is really good work Saraf.
I think the water could use a little work. The scale of the waves at the bottom looks to large. Also I am not sure where the shades of purple in the pool of water in the middle is coming from, it also seems that most of the rocks right there are not reflecting in the water.
Other than that I think this is really good, I really like the composition and everything else about this.

Thx for comments all of you guys...:) This is a last minute change version.. Fixed those purple shades on water. They apear when I compress the psd to jpeg and change the size of the jpeg. Now i edited colors on flattened and resized image and it worked..

WOW 0_0 quite awesome the details of your work - If its not finished so I suggest you add more shadow on the bottom left of your picture : just on the trees behind the rocks :)
well do what you like..lol ^^ and good luck!!
