Hi all!!
wow, there are a lot of good works this month! this will be quite difficult, nice :)
I don't know if I will have enough time to finish it... let's try
Ok, a few steps. The first is a rough matte, to give an idea of what i'm thinking (no time to do a nice concept :(). In the second shot you can see a refined tree. Tomorrow more steps.

Hi! Thanks GFaught, i'm waiting for your updates too.
nice cartoon chunkymunky :) but finally there will be any ewok standing in the tree, sorry ;P it´s only the idea of the big trees, but changing the house in the top for a temple inside...
ok, stop joking, let's go to work...

A new step. The river is only a prototype, i will change it
now i'm working in the leaves of the big tree and in the bg
maybe, tomorrow, i can upload an image with full details before creating the atmosphere

Very detailed, there's still some compositing issues and blending etc but this is still w.i.p, you've not got long now, hope you can finish :)

If possible I'd recommend to scale down the sky image in height so one can see further back. Keep it up. :)

Ok, a big update. The right part of the tree claims for another type of lighting. I will try with a sunset...
Now i'm working with the atmosphere/lighting. Hope you like it.

Like it! Now just emphasize the focal point a bit (guess you want it to be the entrance to the tree) and you are almost there. :)

Thanks for the comment 2BIG3k. You are right, i think that adding the atmosphere and letting the tree with high contrast will work.

I think that's the final image. :)

cool project : I like the idea of having a big tree in the jungle and with a path which go inside the tree.
Its really mystic , I wonder who lives in that tree :P huge and dangerous squirrels ?? lol :D

Really like the Final final pic :).
Tree and huts work nicely, gives the whole scene a new meaning. Still doesn't draw the eye to much away from the rest, but that's a good thing :)!

great work. It does feel more like a lord of the rings meets fantasy theme picture. I don't have a mystic or aztek/maya feel , but its more towards the avatar tree. Its a great piece. Very nice work

great work. It does feel more like a lord of the rings meets fantasy theme picture. I don't have a mystic or aztek/maya feel that it should be, but on its own its a great piece. Very nice work

I don't really think the mods thought you would be that limited in your theme, as long as it is a lost jungle (jungle of what remains unsaid..).
Agreeing otherwise though ;)

I said it should be maya/aztek. That was not true. I correct myself in that post. They did give us a free hand at the theme. And i quess BBB went a bit more towards the Avatar like tree, which was also something they would prefer to see. Everybody should do what he prefers. I personally think the theme is more aztek/maya related , but that just me. Its great piece...

Hi, tjerkotten and hulahuga first of all, thanks for your comments of the site, i need to add a better loader, not only a circle, i will change it for sure, and i want to change a lot of things, but right now i don't have enough time
i selected the music from jamendo (http://www.jamendo.com) site, so you don't have problems with the rights...

Cause many of the works (like yours tjerkotten) are based in mayan/aztec culture, I choose the pure jungle. But then i noticed that the ruins gave to the image a better scale, so i added some of them.

In the next works i want to change the camera angle, amd i'm working in a underwater theme.

hope to see you this month!!
