Hi Everyone, :)

Oops! This time, I guess, I'm extremely late to participate in this wonderful & very exciting Challenge; could not resist, so here I'm participating at the last moment lol! :P Hopefully, I can complete the Matte on time! :)

I'm planning to create the Digital Matte-Painting, based on the epic Film, the 'Avatar'; the Matte has a slight-bit of influence from the Film but, I tried to make it as unique as possible (as you'll see)! :) I went for an aerial POV of the jungle; I tried to make the huge mountain (in the BG, on the RHS), the focal-point of the Matte! :) I hope that, you'll like it! :) Comments & Critiques, as always, are heartily welcome! :)

PS : Credit for the Photos used in the creation of the Matte-Painting goes to Juan (aka plusultra)! :)

Completed the LHS BG mountains; conceptualized the RHS BG mountain (focal-point of the Matte) and, added waterfalls to it! :)

Hehe... yeah! :) Actually, I did saw the Movie three times (twice at the IMAX-3D & once in 2D); so, I just can't get out of the mesmerizing & the beautiful world of the Pandora lol! :D

Nice WIP :) good luck to finish it before the deadline !! why not a something like a huge castle at near the huge rock, to see where your traveller ( might be aragorn :D lol ) wants to arrive. And watch out with the shadows and lights ( the worst enemy on matte painting :P )

Thank you very much for the compliments; I'm glad that, you liked the progress so far! :) Haha... it can be the Aragorn (Strider), it can be the Avatar (Jake Sully) or, it can be anyone lol! :D Very nice idea; but, I'm planning to keep the environment as lush-green & natural as possible (let's see)! :) Sure! Lights-&-Shadows are one of the most important aspects to keep into account; I'll try my level-best to keep them into account! :)
