Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous...:D
Thanks for your comments.
The grass was made with an in-house maxscript
The script can generate differente of grass, 3d or
patch, and you can animate it

Is this a character modeled after my sketch for rage?!
Has to be, there is no such coincidence. If so you should grant my little place in the spot light and mention my name as a sketch artist.
Very nice modeling, I must add. You should work more on this one and give us something more realistic. My crit is that the sword looks kindda fake. Put some shine on that blade, my man! And the handle should use some too!
Thanks again for your comments.
Avatar: my response is no, I effectively see your image ( nice sketch) in a wip thread, your sketch only give me inspiration for the pose, weapons
(sword, knives) and the shoulder part.
But for the armor maybe you should go see this link it's very interresting, this is the ressources I use to model this armor.

Ok, no need to worry, just that the resemblance was so big that I couldn't notice it. Maybe you'll still want to take my advice and put some metalic look on that blade. And also maybe you'll make the daggers a little bigger, now they look like toy knives.
About the rest, congratulation once more, you're a pretty darn artist.

woah!! nice good render man.. :) great, pressive model tho :p
Thanks for your feedback
Avatar: for the blade and the daggers, you're right.
I'll make some changes on it and I'll post soon a new
version.
Well, here is a new version with little changes made
And an another version not yet finished.
Which do you prefer?

Amazing work man...awnsome scene..simply great
only a crit...i think u could improve another texture on the blade sword...i think it's to fake comparing with other objects in the scene...but fabulous anyway

The daggers look better now. Work on the sword. Are you modeling in Max? If so try a metal shader with a reflect-refract map on the reflection slot.
The second looks more like the elfs from the Lotr movie. I must congratulate you again, very good work. I want to see the bow. If you need a model for a elven bow go to my post in 2d section of the forum. I have there a Legolas-like elf with a bow.

Avatar & Bito - Ya know, with Avatar's completely awesome concept drawings and Bito's complete mastery of 3d, you guys should REALLY team up.
In looking at Avatar's drawings and being blown away, there were several that I pictured in my head using Bito's 3d modeling. The 'live' gargoyle sitting on the stone wall with the castle in the background, or the knight standing next to his horse... gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. Opportunity is staring you guys right in the face, I just hope you both realize it!!!:D

Thanks Ivinia, that felt good.
Bito, what about the sword?
Well, I don't forget the sword but I'm working on 2 others big projects and my high-Elf project is not my actual priority.
However I've made some little changes on the sword
shaders and if you have any suggestions they are all welcome.
Ivinia: thanks for your comment, I really appreciate
Avatar: I see your thread in 2d forum and I must say
that your work is really impressive, congratulations

Bito, thanks for the compliments. Nice job you've done on the sword, it looks just fine. Now, if you wanna do something to make it better you could add a bump map on the part near the guard (it's the part that protects the hand) with a nice celtic model or maybe some rhunes.

Both versions are very cool :D
But i prefer the first version. The other looks like a dress. nice though. As for the sword I think that looks fine :S may just be me. Personally I wouldnt change it.

I have one question..the script u've mentioned earlier..how can i find it??plz. guide me..again..very good work
-salam
Thanks again for the comments,
jbsniff: yes, I have a lot more like that in different style: sci-fi, creatures, environment,...but I can show a little part of it. (maybe you can see my other posts)
ARTillery: as I mentioned earlier, this is an in-house script and it's actually only for our personal use, we probably adapt it for a public plugins but I don't know when.

Great modeling and texturing! Realy nice!
Though the light/texture/reflection in the sword needs improvement... it seems like the sword weights like a feather, the elf has no problem carrying it. Dunno how you can change that though ;) it might just be me anyway :D
May I ask which methods/techniques you used for the different parts of the character?
Once again: _great_ work!

Wow. Max 3 eh.
I would love to see what you could do with Max5. I remember the poly editing in Max3 as being almost paralizing.

i`m working with max3 myself and am quite satisfied with the mesh editing capabilities allthough they might not be as sophisticated as in later editions.
max2 however was terrible ;)
ah elbereth, a great Eldar this is.

I used max 3 and I like the poly edit tools. Maybe I should try it again with the newer version. My biggest grip was the shadows and renderer but using Vray would get rid of that.

very nice...please show us the wirefaram
holy frekin ****!! i knew this was going to happen!!! somebody got ahead of me modelling (or having inspiration) from the sketch avatar did for me....crap!!
well lets see how mine gets....hehe
ah and yes, it looks quite cool, the only thing that bothers me in a way is the metal shader, it looks weird...maybe u should try and add better specularity and some scratches or sumethin´
cheers!

omg!! this is some serious work man, kickass modelling!! As rage mentioned, you should work more on the metall shader.. Looks odd, anyway, kickass work!!
wow!!! Thanks a lot for all the comments
I'll try to respond to all questions
ClAyMan: I used the spline modelling for the entire character and armor, except for the small details (lofts or box modelling)
fabrizzzio: as I said this is an in-house script that we probably adapt into a public plugin, but if it will be free, I don't know.
Tom: Thanks a lot, and for a tutorial, why not.
restoeboemi: I used anisotropic shader with specular map and raytrace reflection
yes I prefer use max3, I often use very huge scenes with more than 5 millions polys and I have notice that max3 is more stable than the newer versions, maybe it's just me but I really hate when the prog "squish" my scene after 15-20 minutes, because it's too huge or need too much resource.
I put a wireframe and a shaded render of the elf.
450K polys and no vray for this render, just 9 lights
For the metal shader, I'll work on it, be patient
And thanks again for the comments
