05-06-2010, 10:44 PM
hi, i was thinking in something like hellboy in a pixar style, i'll be starting soon. first of all i've to create my concept.
05-06-2010, 10:53 PM
another man have chosen a cartoon path. :) good luck on this one. sounds interesting. pixar has many styles you know - it wont be that easy to capture this characters charizma in a specific style. but as i said - good luck. will ceep an eye ont this one :)
06-06-2010, 08:57 PM
here is a quick model of what i want to do
06-06-2010, 09:21 PM
nice update :). i see you are trying to achieve "the incredibles" style. well then you should give him a super hero jaw, cheecks, and a expresion :). and dont forget his horns, as for now it deasnt feel that tuff as he should be.
good luck on a progres. :)
as paulius is, i am really curious how u go about doing Hellboy.
Any pixar style in particular - according how u modelled the head so far i would say Incredibles Style ?.
07-06-2010, 08:11 AM
Nice start, but which style of pixar are you using? This one of the Indestructibles as bgen said?
Good luck for the next.
07-06-2010, 04:26 PM
yeah, i'm trying to use an incredibles style, but mixing it with some human proportions
07-06-2010, 04:58 PM
here is some progress
08-06-2010, 06:48 PM
now it is getting shape
08-06-2010, 06:52 PM
Looking good, I like the thin legs
08-06-2010, 10:23 PM
i have been thinking in the scene, this an example but i dont know wich scene is good, i ve searching in the web but i couldn't find any good idea, if anyone can help me finding one.. thanks :)
08-06-2010, 10:36 PM
nice progres. i think it would look cool if you placed the character somewhere on the roof of the building and in background we could see the moon and the stars. and as for the pose i suggest this one . its epic enuogh
09-06-2010, 12:44 AM
hey man, i like it, i 'll try, thanks
09-06-2010, 11:37 AM
Looking good so far :)
10-06-2010, 10:30 PM
here is a z brush initial model, i dont kow if it s correct to create some abs or just like that
11-06-2010, 02:17 PM
Loving the big hand at the moment, looks great :)
11-06-2010, 05:53 PM
great progress so far!
I think that the hands could use a bit more work, somehow they look odd now. Maybe a bit too long fingers, and wrong thumb placement.
and abs always looks cool on a comic guy :D
keep it up ;)
14-06-2010, 02:57 PM
here is the body with some textures and normal map
14-06-2010, 06:39 PM
I think the edge of the broken horns is a little to soft even for a pixar one :p
15-06-2010, 06:20 PM
here is another practice
18-06-2010, 10:30 PM
well, i'm thinking in creating another idea of a pixar hellboy, but this time more cartoon, something like a small red kid with a huge hand
19-06-2010, 11:10 AM
yep, I agree with you ;)
so I liked your last picture, perspective, the colors, the atmosphere, good luck for you new idea!
19-06-2010, 07:37 PM
Good work so far. I like the idea but it would be great to see something more cartoon, something like the image of paulius-st's pose suggestion.
Buen trabajo Steban!
19-06-2010, 09:52 PM
thanks all, here is my new idea, a kid hellboy, hope it seem to be more cartoon.
gracias Maxter :)
21-06-2010, 07:21 AM
LOL he looks so scared or startled :)
22-06-2010, 06:12 PM
here is the first body image of kid hellboy :D
23-06-2010, 08:49 AM
Not too bad at all, although your test renders are a little dark.
24-06-2010, 08:50 PM
well, until im not happy, i ll try different things, at this time i use the idea that paulius gave me, here is a cartoon hellboy
30-06-2010, 03:45 AM
here is the gun, it is not my best try:hmm:, but i think its good
30-06-2010, 04:24 AM
and some fun...jeje
30-06-2010, 05:00 AM
The gun;s not a bad start, I think the textures could be roughed up a little more though
30-06-2010, 08:48 PM
hi, this is my reference image, and there is my model of a pixar damaged car
30-06-2010, 09:46 PM
Zbrush!, here is a sculpt is my first damaged car :)
30-06-2010, 10:07 PM
Very cool well done
01-07-2010, 06:11 AM
Nice work so far and I like the car, keep going.
01-07-2010, 06:25 PM
hi, here there is the car with some textures
03-07-2010, 12:32 PM
the textyured car has seemed to have lost some detail from the sculpt but im sure it will still look good when its in the scene :)
oh, it needs the glass as well :)
03-07-2010, 09:44 PM
hi, thanks a lot, talking about the glass, do you know how can i mix just the textured windows with a glass shader?
03-07-2010, 11:22 PM
What render program r u using?
04-07-2010, 12:04 AM
im using mental ray from 3ds max 2010
04-07-2010, 11:00 PM
some fun in Zbrush,
05-07-2010, 04:12 PM
hi, i'm having troubles at this point, my 3ds max seem to be damaged, when i open it, and apply the normal map to hellboy, it doesn't respond
05-07-2010, 04:18 PM
is the just the normals that dont seem to be working? or does it crash etc? try to show a screen grab or something if u can
05-07-2010, 06:15 PM
here is the error, the program freezes in the first image, and then the second image appears
( in the first image it says in the material editor that the application doesn't respond, and in the second image it says that:
3ds max application doesn't respond, if u close it u will lose information, and then it appears an autodesk sending report
05-07-2010, 06:38 PM
that is odd, have you tried merging everything into a new file?
05-07-2010, 07:06 PM
no, i will try, thanks
05-07-2010, 07:42 PM
here is a quick pick of what i want so far (hellboy has no textures 'cause of the previous problem)
05-07-2010, 08:05 PM
maybe make the people more obvious at the back its a nice feature but i missed it the first time
05-07-2010, 08:47 PM
good progress )
for keep style of incredibles you can change proportions like on my picture. I think, that would be more interesting. Good luck!
05-07-2010, 09:44 PM
Really nice so far but I think the arms are a bit too thin.
06-07-2010, 04:35 PM
thanks guys, i tried to scale the arms a bit, here is some advance, but, i've a question, using the daylight system, how can i create the light effect (or fluorenscent) for some materials such as the lamp?, 'cause im using a self ilumination with it, but it doesnt semm to affect it
08-07-2010, 04:42 PM
hi, i want to create some pixar advertisings right behind the car, but i dont know if i can use some images like pixar's logo or something like that, can i?
08-07-2010, 06:15 PM
That's really cool so far but I dont think you're allowed to use adds from pixar's movie (even if it would have been cool :hurt:), but I'm not sure.
08-07-2010, 06:42 PM
08-07-2010, 08:41 PM
here is another update, its getting closer:)
12-07-2010, 02:55 PM
the sky is an internet image, can i use it?
12-07-2010, 02:59 PM
not 100% sure about the internet image, but your image is getting closer :) still a bit dark thought. That bright light behind him, have u photoshop that in?
12-07-2010, 04:26 PM
yes, ´cause i cant create that light effect, thanks
12-07-2010, 04:58 PM
this is not so dark, and its getting closer
12-07-2010, 07:53 PM
in my opinion, you need to show the main parts that you want others to focus with.
the hellboy maybe the main parts in the picture.
12-07-2010, 09:46 PM
Nice work but I think the hellboy is too hidden by the smoke.
13-07-2010, 12:00 AM
here is another try, i tried to focus more on hellboy, reduce the opacity of the smoke, and create some highlights
13-07-2010, 07:54 AM
Really cool, but I think the left part is a bit empty.
14-07-2010, 02:36 PM
much better :) well done
14-07-2010, 03:03 PM
thanks Tarik2d and chichiri
well i think this is the final image hope you like it :)
