this will be hard for me but let's see what it's gonna be... :ufo::D
25-06-2010, 03:30 AM
my slow update, alien arc gun... :ufo:
25-06-2010, 08:23 AM
Nice start there, looking good :)
30-06-2010, 10:30 AM
here's my progress so far. these things are on the right arm of D-9 alien exosuit...
30-06-2010, 01:04 PM
Oh yeah, lovely detailing so far :)
30-06-2010, 01:13 PM
Nice gun, I like the details.
30-06-2010, 01:26 PM
Excellent and clean modelling judging from your wireframes, this is shaping up very well. I really enjoyed the District 9 film aswell
30-06-2010, 07:19 PM
cool weapons and clean topology
30-06-2010, 07:48 PM
Nice gun :) whats its going on the end of?
01-07-2010, 03:26 AM
chunkymunky, chichiri : thanks...
ClassicGamer-3DT, eicronie : the lowpoly models' wireframe may be quiet clean but the smoothed models are not so clean :ugh:
Tarik2d : thanks... still too far from the end... :haha:
I thought this thing was easy to build. It's not even symmetrical (that's not it's left arm, I just cloned the right arm) :wall:
01-07-2010, 06:17 AM
Nice work, I love the details.
01-07-2010, 07:21 AM
Look good, how u going to mix it though?
01-07-2010, 09:22 AM
@ chichiri : thanks again...
@ Tarik2d : I'll put that exosuit together with prince Dastan in the middle of district 9 in Persia while alien space ship is floating above the district but I haven't done any sketch for the concept. Everything is just a plan right now...so I still have to model prince Dastan, space ship and the city and some matte painting for the background...and I think texturing works will be really painful :wall: I have a tight deadline to catch...every modeling has to be speed modeling  I hope I can do speed rendering too :haha:
01-07-2010, 09:37 AM
I thought I had a lot to do :) good luck with it
01-07-2010, 09:47 AM
02-07-2010, 07:36 AM
hadz : LoL  I haven't got my master degree. Good luck with your study...
blocking out whole body:
thats really good.. but maybe i prefer if there is some more buttons in it middle :)
i will try to do same this
02-07-2010, 07:15 PM
02-07-2010, 11:22 PM
go go go, are u going to do it all battle damaged like the film?
08-07-2010, 06:03 AM
eicronie : thanks, you have nice progress there too...
Tarik2d : battle damage is a must :)
Here's the scene minus prince Dastan... The exosuit model is still in progress..., everything is still far from completion. So many things to do...:wall:
Any time extension? :lame:
08-07-2010, 10:34 AM
The exosuit is amazing!
Scene looks promising
10-07-2010, 09:14 AM
Mithras : thanks!
Persiaaaa!!! I'll be back with more updates soon... I'll try to finish all models this weekend...
10-07-2010, 09:15 AM
damn you work fast, looking good
10-07-2010, 09:25 AM
Tarik2d : thanks..., but no so fast actually..., my pc has crashed more than 5 times this afternoon...
10-07-2010, 09:46 AM
have you started textures on the robot?
10-07-2010, 09:52 AM
no, not yet..., perhaps tonight... LoL
10-07-2010, 09:55 AM
Do you use a daylight system? Or what kind of setup do you use for the lightning?
10-07-2010, 10:07 AM
@ Cordero : yes, basic setup daylight system with mental ray..., i didn't do anything...just simple basic setup... :)
10-07-2010, 10:13 AM
yeah my spider senses was right then..
May i ask why do you use mental ray?
And how long did your last posted update took to render?
Tell me when you are tired of my questions :D
I don't know if you already know this but i'm gonna link this anyway :D
it might step up your composition.
oh and one more question: how did you make the patterns fit on the building? Did you unwrap it?
10-07-2010, 10:20 AM
great work...i can not wait to see the final shot...
10-07-2010, 10:28 AM
@ Cordero : 2-3 minutes on corei7 920, 4 gigs of RAM... render setup : AA high, FG low, no GI...
Unwrap? Noooo, just automatic UV mapping. I know that is a very very bad way but that's faster... LoL.
Thanks for the link... :)
Great work :) lots of things to do keep it up!!
10-07-2010, 11:04 AM
LemonW, Ducu : thanks...
11-07-2010, 02:54 PM

Really beautiful, well done.
By the way: I noticed you forgot to post your wireframe on the final entries' page. You should post it, your entry is so cool.
15-07-2010, 07:02 PM
eicronie : thanks...
chichiri : I fixed it, thanks...
15-07-2010, 07:04 PM
eicronie : thanks...
chichiri : I fixed it, thanks...
15-07-2010, 07:34 PM
really nice scene and work modelling!!
one comment, I will put the robot in the foreground much more from the background perhaps contrasting it or something ...
15-07-2010, 07:40 PM
Amazing! This is my favourite final so far!
15-07-2010, 08:27 PM
That is really impressive work rofiqalfata! 5 stars! Good luck in the competition :)
15-07-2010, 08:48 PM
solid work mate!
Nice work I love it, nice level of details best of luck rofi :P
16-07-2010, 07:28 AM
Thatīs brilliant, man! Great modeling and the final image is outstanding. But to be honest, I do miss the Prince of Persia-Part a little. Please donīt get me wrong, the city looks great, but something lik the Prince itself becoming a Prawn, that would be the final touch ;)
Anyway, well done and for sure one of my favorites so far!
16-07-2010, 07:47 AM
chris_solo, Mithras, Dront, dopefish, Ducu, rap : thanks guys...
Nupsi : that was my plan but I couldn't make it happen because I've got to do so many works at my office recently... but at least I finished my entry... :smug: My time management is really bad... :ugh: :wall:
17-07-2010, 08:40 PM
This one looks great, really ambitious scene with all the buildings and their textures as well as a really neatly done exosuit :D!
