View Full Version : Movie Mashup - Pixar's The Godfather - Maxter

Really cool theme! This will be a great challenge!
The Godfather and Up are two of my alltime favorite movies:lurve:. They come from very different eras, but they've held a great meaning for me. I also find some similarities between Don Vito Corleone and Carl Fredricksen characters.
I just thought it would be great to see The Godfather adapted into an animated film by Pixar, as a tribute to the great Marlon Brando.
I hope I can make it through;)

Well, here is the beginning of texturing process. I painted the color map for the head so far. The other elements only have standard materials applied. I'm gonna paint the hands and add some textures. Give me your thoughts

looking great now, but the face looks too `dirty` in my opinion, maybe it is the shading problem. the bright side and dark side, i think the final render will not have this problem
08-07-2010, 11:06 AM
Really nice character but the render looks just as if he had dust on his face.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I appreciate it!
I'll have to deal with the shading issue. I'll fix it for the next update and final render. In the meantime I'm still working on texturing, here's an update with all the textures and displacement maps applied. let me know your thoughts.

All pictures are beautiful looking. I must say that was your speed carving pirate, took me to races and then eventually get the balls should be, so thanks. I love the amount of signal your style, but I received a grant, I do not know who he is. I think that because it is the actor do not know me.

Here's a render test I did. It has the hair shader pass and a sss material. I'm rendering with max and mental ray.

Thanks for the feedback!
I see I'll have to make a few adjustments before the final render.
Right now I'm modeling the chair and then I'll work on Don Vito's pose. I hope to have time to do it ;)
