I'm gonna rest my other entry for a while, and i'll start a new one.
I'll model the Mask, and give him a nice suit, and a pose him like on the picture below.

U crazy, ur doing another entry lol. I wish I had time to do more than one
Cordero
20-06-2010, 07:45 AM
Hehe :D I'm gonna make this better then the previous one!
So here is the head sculpt so far. I'm going to spend more time with this, because this will be the main part of the scene, and the two guns. So i'll try to make this as cool as possible:D
A bit over sized jaws with a funky shape will help me add some more Mask feel to the scene.
I think i'll call the project "Hitmask"... :P

Looking great so far. Also isnt the jaw on the mask much bigger?
And good luck with doing two entrys.
Cordero
20-06-2010, 08:05 PM
Thanks :D i needed to rest from the other one... i got messed up with all the stuff in the scene:D
what do you mean exactly? Is the jaw too big right now, or it should be bigger then it is now?
Turvs
20-06-2010, 08:14 PM
No sorry its good as it is. I got confused, just looked on google and realised it was the joker i was thinking of. Picture on front page made me think of that lol.
Cordero
20-06-2010, 08:18 PM
Yeah, the two characters have some similarities :D i would like to do a character as cool as the one plugged :D
lets hope i'll manage :D

there are some minor issues with it now, but i hope you like it.

wanted to check the head with eyes and teeth.. of course they are just place holders !:D

Nice to see a slightly sinister looking Mask rather than the just zany counterpart played by Jim Carrey :)
Looking good so far to me.
Cordero
21-06-2010, 10:14 AM
Thanks Chunky! Yes, i'm going for the sinister look, as you said, but i'm still not pleased with his expression, so i'll fix that up.
getting closer to the goal with the gun.
crits are most welcome.
Tarik2d
21-06-2010, 10:36 AM
guns looking nice and clean, keep it up
Cordero
21-06-2010, 10:57 AM
Thanks Tarik!
I'm trying to find the ideal facial expression.
What do you think about this one?
Tarik2d
21-06-2010, 11:01 AM
thats looking good, a bit more evil than the last
Cordero
22-06-2010, 07:07 AM
Yeah, that was the goal thanks!:D
i'm trying to discover the subtool menu, so i can put a sphere in there for the eye, and model around it... I should seriously research some of the zbrush tools :D
Cordero
24-06-2010, 08:45 AM
Getting closer to the final result..
I need to sculpt the clothing, and i need to model a glove, and i'm done!:D
Crits are most welcome!

It's not looking too bad at all, but I think you need to tone down the green colour for the mask, at the moment it looking for too bright/almost neon. Other than that you're doing well here.
Turvs
24-06-2010, 09:14 AM
Looking great and i agree with chunky on the mask.
One this i was thinking, although it might take it a bit further from the hitman part, is to change the suit colour to yellow. I think thats what it was in the movie, cant just remeber.
Other than that great work.
Cordero
24-06-2010, 10:25 AM
chunkymunky: thanks i'll tweak the shader, and i'll tone it done. It really is too "bright" at the moment.
Turvs: Thanks! Yeah, it was yellow in the movie, but i wanted to keep it black for the hitman feel as you said.
Cordero
24-06-2010, 05:10 PM
Started to review the models i have so far.
I'm trying to set up the final lightning, so i can see the reaction of the materials in their final position.
edit: sorry for the noise in the render :D
Tarik2d
24-06-2010, 05:48 PM
looking much better. toning the green down helped a lot along with the tilt on the head u have
Turvs
24-06-2010, 05:53 PM
Yea looking much better. Also why did you change the red tie, i thought it looked good? Guess it didnt suit the scene then. Anyway cant wait to see it finished.
Tarik2d
24-06-2010, 05:56 PM
i think its still red just thats its dark
gauravcg
24-06-2010, 06:40 PM
nice render....giving nice feel of hitman.....waiting for more!!!
Cordero
24-06-2010, 07:23 PM
Thanks Tarik!
Turvs: Thanks! The tie color didn't change, the render is too dark. I brightened it up after your comment ;)
gauravcg: Thanks! I thought maybe its too emotional for Hitman, but it can be called a mashup then!:D
I'm gonna do the suit now..
chunkymunky
25-06-2010, 08:35 AM
Oooh yeah i'm liking the new sinister pose!
Cordero
25-06-2010, 10:58 AM
Thanks Chunky!
Need to review each part again, one by one, since i'm not pleased with the result so far. Apart from the gun, i think every part of the scene needs reviewing.
Turvs
25-06-2010, 11:01 AM
Wow thats great, i really cant see what needs changing. The face and guns look great, and i cant see what is wrong with the suit.
Cordero
25-06-2010, 04:06 PM
Thanks Turvs! You are right, they probably look alright now, but i wanted to go for a more realistic look, making this smile somewhat believable, so its more "scary" that way.
And the scary aspect of the final picture would be go for the Mask's "deformed" personality, which is both evil, and good at the same time.
So this is my attempt making the plastic feeling disappear, and changing it up with a more soft, skin like tone. I also adjusted the eyes, and the teeth a little bit, but i think that the teeth is maybe too bright, or too white.
What do you think?
i also decided to completely remake the shirt. I need to practice fold sculpting anyway :D
Tarik2d
25-06-2010, 04:11 PM
the skin is better in this one, but i prefer the teeth in the previous one
Cordero
25-06-2010, 08:59 PM
I read you post, and i set the teeth back to the way it was.
I like it better this way too.
I think its worth remaking this stuff, because they are better then they were before.
Doesn't they?:D
Turvs
25-06-2010, 09:06 PM
Ah, thats much better. Brighter, and the ties much better now. Also you can see they eyes which gives it a much better hitman/crazy effect.
Just wish i could model characters. Actually now im all set for september im gonna start learning again
chunkymunky
26-06-2010, 09:06 AM
Skin is rocking now, and the pose is working really well :)
Cordero
09-07-2010, 07:37 AM
Turvs: Thanks! This is my first high poly character scene, i guess it could be a lot worse :D I've never worked with highpoly stuff in 3dsmax... the face is basically an exported version from zbrush.
chunkymunky: Thanks Chunky!
Well, i'm still alive :D Tarik told me that it could be a good idea to model some sort of background. I decided to go for it, and i'm gonna model the famous hotel corridor from the film, where agent 47 is encountered by the police. The pose, and all that will be the same, but i'm gonna model a corridor in the background, and i'm gonna change of course the lightning accordingly.
I'm having some trouble with the suit, and the gloves, but I think i'm gonna follow my old routine... make it crap for a start, fix it to be less crappier, and then fix again like 2 times, and see whats gonna happen :D
I'm excited about making the scene in the background! I'm gonna post updates ASAP!
Turvs
09-07-2010, 08:36 AM
Cool, i started playing hitman again last night and what you could do is something like lights shot out and sparks so its still dark yet enough light to make the character look like that. Although then the light would probably be orange.
But that sounds great so far cant wait for the updates.
Cordero
09-07-2010, 10:08 AM
Hey! Thats a nice idea! I'll have to model the corridor anyway, and put light in to it, but it wont take absolutely no time to make a "lights out" version of the scene.

I have a problem here:
The arrows which should appear when i move an object doesn't appear. (neither the rotation, or scale) I already tried:
Hitting the X button.
Reseting pivot point to center of the object. (the arrows never appear, no matter what object i select)
i already tried to open a fresh max file, create a box, move it, but the arrows still doesn't appear.
Please help!:D

never mind.... if any of you encounter this annoying problem, simply check the View/Show transform Gizmo option.

It is not nice at all bad, but I think it should mitigate the green mask, when it seems too bright / almost neon. Other than that you do well here. I started playing Hitman again last night and you can do something about the lights and sparks shot so its still dark, but light enough so that it seems to be.http://www.probosslacrosse.com/catalog/images/WarriorNationHitmanShouderPad.jpghttp://www.pwned.com/gamecovers/playstation2/e6e35629c22eac5db2aa4a3ddc5105c5-Hitman__Contracts.jpg

Some update!
Apart from the head, and the pistol in the hitmask scene, non of the materials, are final. (i kinda like that "gum"like feeling but i'll change it to be more realistic) ((he will hold up both pistols up, but i forget to mirror it...:D))
The corridor is based on a particular screenshot from the movie. The quality of the render sucks, and also there are a lot of thing to change with the geometry, and with the lightning. I haven't started texturing the scene yet, but if this kind of lightning turns out to be cool, i wont have to worry about the textures too much, since they wont even show on the render :D
Hitmask will stand in the middle of the corridor, showing off the same amount of the model which it does on the black background scene. (because there is no more :D)
There are plenty of light sources in the corridor scene, getting more red like as the corridor moves in to the distance. (the nearby light are blue)
Also, there is an intentional black part in the middle of the corridor, giving some more scary feel to it. I have to work something out to make the scene look like the light were shot out. (suggested by Turvs!)
I'll put hitmask in the scene ASAP, since the lightning will change a lot when he enters!
hope you like the little preview!
Cordero
10-07-2010, 11:39 PM
well, you know nothing is final, etc, etc...
Just showing some progress.
Cordero
11-07-2010, 07:36 AM
Hey guys! As you can see there is two painting in the scene. If you have any particular favorite, i would be more then happy to put it in the scene!:D
If there will be no suggestions, i'll type "painting" in to google on many different languages :D

Hey Cordero, nice progress here. But I´ve got to tell you that there´s something strange in the suit. It seems like puffy and also the shader makes it look like metalic or something similar. Work in this and it will be perfect. Also the lighting is a little bit dark. I hope this can help you. :) Good luck!
Turvs
11-07-2010, 02:16 PM
For the paintings you could show the two movies, the hitman one here http://superherouniverse.com/art/data/500/Hitman.jpg and the mask (cant find a decent one atm)
Also i agree with jlmayen i think the suit does look metalic.
Cordero
11-07-2010, 02:47 PM
jlmayen: Thanks for the crit! I'll definitely change the material of the suit!
Turvs: Hah! What a great idea Turvs!:D I think i'm gonna go with that. I actually used that picture you posted as a reference, so i might use that in the scene.
Three steps forward, two back... Grey materials everywhere, and new lightning setup. Bright floor, less bright walls, and darkest ceiling. This makes the corridor scene kind of ... scary:D I'll have to explain the lightness on the floor.. those white dots supposed to be lights :D i'm gonna fix that.
What do you think about the colors?
xxxcubanxxx
11-07-2010, 02:47 PM
Looking good dude, if you could take the suit into zbrush and give it some wrinkles that would make it so much better, try it. Looking forward to more...
Cordero
11-07-2010, 02:48 PM
Thanks man! I will! I'll be using the reference Turvs just posted.

Cordero

i'm satisfied with this lightning conditions. I'll probably change some materials, but that i'll do later. Now its time to finalize the character's model, and textures + shaders!
crits are welcome!

Looking nice, bet ur glad u did the scene now ;)
Cordero

Yeah I am glad!:D Thanks for the tip again!
Cordero
12-07-2010, 03:53 PM
brought the suits one part in to zbrush, sculpted some folds. I think this will be enough to break the surface, and will look good on the final render!
I'm gonna post the whole room later on, since i decided to stick to this style which i have now, and don't bother with too much realism. (thanks Tarik again!)

oO!!!! Nice job mate!!!
....so one idea, may need a kind of energy around the character, but something in mitigation (a green glow..), but add one more to the scene...
Nice final, lot better than your 1st head showed :D
Cordero
16-07-2010, 06:10 PM
chichiri Thanks!
chris_solo: Thanks man! I'm really glad that you like it! Thanks for the tip! Its too late for now to change that in the final entry, so i guess i'll leave the way it is now.
I hope you'll join the next competition!
