I'm sure you've had already a question about it but i'm still going to ask it.;P
What program do you prefer for modeling Maya or 3ds Max?
And what program do you prefer for animating Maya or 3ds Max?
And why?:hmm:

I prefer Max because it works the way that I work. Both apps are capable; try both and see which suits you better

as someone who learnt maya first and then max my bias is towards the former but it really depends on how you work, as both products have their advantages.
personally i would say that maya has a better interface - the marking menus and shortcuts are a lot more intuitive and allow for a much faster streamlined workflow if you put the time and effort into learning them. its got more powerful options too which can be confusing if you're learning from scratch.
max's advantage comes from the modifier stack. maya has construction history but it very rarely works in the way you want it too and isn't non destructive. max also has more tutorials written for it (at least it seems that way!) so it's probably an easier piece of software to learn from scratch.

I've actually learnt 3ds Max already but I can't find a rigging tutorial for it. And I've heard that Maya is better for animation.:hmm:

For rigging in Max watch this video to get you started. It made things a lot clearer for me
