When you're building humans, how many sections do you put around the joints (elbows and knees etc)? And do you leave them as 'rings' around the area or weld some vertices together on the inside of the joints?

In the past I've always done it by leaving the rings of vertices, but I've had some odd deformations and was wondering what the best way to get around this is.

rings will do fine, merge the verts on the inside of the joints. And toy around with the vertex weight to get the rigt deformation.
