Amundsen-Scott Southpole Station.
Snow was my biggest challange in this scene, I needed photo realism.

I would have thought that more snow would have fallen into the lattices and stayed there however

The snow needs a lot more work. First, it looks as if the snow only ceases to cover the ground/objects because the meshes intersect...like the snow goes "through" everything in some places. Second, the snow looks okay on the ground near the camera (though the compression seems high there), but its texture carries throughout the rest of the snow. Snow doesn't work like that. There are both smooth and rough patches, and it is greatly determined by the way the wind blows across it.

I would look for some more references and keep tweaking.
