Scripting Newbie - How do I do this??

I was looking at Blur Studios 'LightBoy' plugin, and I was thinking that a true light-board setup of lights would be pretty neat, as well as a decent introduction to the whole scripting world.

However, I've been looking for like an hour and I STILL can't figure out how to get a floater box that would add controls based on how many lights are in the scene...

Basically I just wanted to be able to add a light to the scene, and then the controls for that light get added to a floating window.

Anyone know how to do this kind of thing, or where I can look that someone has done something similar?

Ok.. somebody just pointed me in the direction of the 'light lister' in Max.. hehe. Didn't know it was there.. no wonder scripting isn't to populated - it's been done!!
