Hey All -
I'm actually here on behalf of Disney and just wanted to see what everyone thought about their new animated film, Mars Needs Moms? For those that haven't seen the trailer, you can check it out here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aS5W___Ezk), but basically it's an animated film about Mars taking the moms from earth. What do you think?

Well when I first heard the title I wasn't expecting much but seeing the trailer made me change my mind. Although I prefer the "Pixar" visual appearance this is still beautifully presented and the animation is top-notch.
Of course that is the 3D nerd side of me that is speaking. Other than that the story seems nice and in a way, original. It definitely seems funny and the voice-acting is great.
Can't really say much more but I am looking forward to watching it :)

So this childs mum and many other humans are being abducted by martians as part of some breeding program leading to this kid trying to find her? If that's the case it sounds fantastic, but the trailer doesn't do this idea any justice at all.
The characters come across as obnoxious. This is a pretty serious situation they're in here and all they're doing is cocking about? For christs sake this kids mother is about to become the host for which this alien race attempts to further build its species, that's some heavy stuff. Secondly I don't understand why the aliens themselves are so dumb. Unless the kid just jumped into an alien "support group" of some kind I wouldn't expect the aliens at the forefront of this plot to be so... "slow minded".
To me (judging this film entirely on the trailer), it just feels like the plot has been completely dumbed down to make it "entertaining for kids". In actuality the plot sounds like were it explored in a more of a mature manner it could be the basis for a really interesting film.
As for the CG, I agree with ninth that I'm more a fan of Pixars style and I was quick to dismiss the look of this film, that is until they left Earth. The shots of the alien homeworld looks brilliant.
