I have largely stopped following the buzz and chatter on this subject cross-forum, instead preferring to check for an update, paint a character out, go to lunch and now sitting down to continue working through Motorstorm, which i never finished.

I picked up M:PR yesterday for $30 at Toys-r-us hoping to get to it before Apocalypse comes out. I think the time has come to put these threads to rest until Fred unvails his master creation. I'll be on the track if you all need me...:)

I see your point Sathe, but in this case its all optional,rather than work that needs to be done. In my case anyway, the timeline doesn't matter, I guess in other peoples case it may.

Either way I might take Katana's view...leave it for now and look in if and when the thing actually starts. I can focus on other things for now. Just check the dominancewar.com website once a day until then.

I was actually expecting to see more uninspired mechanical stuff trying to mimic some of last years finalists. But "God of Machines" just sounds like a bad Transformers robot.

The Gods are corny, but what gets me is the lame voice acting and script in the trailer that falls somewhere between the Mortal Kombat announcer and a Warcraft knockoff. I get the same sort of painful cheeseball feeling watching Moses the Orc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfqHbOiJcAM&feature=related). Not trying to put down the rest of the hard work people put into the trailer, especially because it is a fan project, but the anouncer completely undermines it.

Yes. You can use as many meshes as you want/need to as long as all triangles totaled don't exceed the budget.

About spying, there's a lot of good work out there. I think that if something is gonna make the difference are small details. The concept itself, characterization, technical execution is important.

Same happens with Toy Story, what is it that makes it soo different, so good. Small details that other cgi movies lack. I hope we can achieve that and stand out of the average ;) gogogo!

It has to all end up on a single 2k texture but ya you can break up your UVs how ever you like.

Bloom, chromatic aberration, bokah, DOF, etc are all not allowed for w/e reason.

Post effects from 3d softwares or 2d programs like Photoshop are NOT allowed in this image. The only adjustments allowed are: Brightness/ Contrast, Levels, Sharpness, and Hue/Saturation.

I found that is impossible to maintain 1200* 1000 at 350k file size.
When saving jpg file in photoshop at 350k file size , my picture will be pixelated. Anyone having this problem ? or u guys just save your artwork in is smaller size (way less then 1200* 1000 ?)

glow map is fine, but adding a glow effect with something like photoshop, is no good. No post effects.

yes, you can do 2 different poses. But you need to make sure you have 1 full front view and 1 full back view of your character.

hi, i've the same problem as DeoxyWater, i uploaded finals, i saw in preview but my main image is still the old one, and it says waiting for moderation 11 hours, and there are just 6 hours left, what do i have to do, submit them?

refresh after awhile and it should be fine

I tried posting a link to my animation, using the embeded code and just the link(on vimeo), but neither worked when I hit the preview. I figured it was just a glitch, but the final submission doesn't show up either. It's not displaying 'Craza's animation on the entry page either... How to proceed? :\

it takes some time for sumitions to show up. But, just in case, try uploading your animation to another site and try a link from there.

In the pre war, I tried a link from Vimeo and it wouldn't work, but my link from youtube worked just fine.

Looked through about 4 forums and voted on all of them... It seems as if the standard is actually in general a bit lower in the new forums... :/ But one of them had 3 or something pretty darn cool entries.



EDIT: You guys should definitely check out the anim section of all the forums, some really good clips out there... One (which I saw just now) however was a complete rip off of Kratos' moves in God of War and the anim was even named God of War... lol...
