Mecreat is a name of the God i have in mind - due to destroyed future, most of the things still left standing in some shape and form are the mechanical things.
He can create life from those, to help build, repair and repopulate the Earth.
His name is merely a combination of MEchanical CREATing
here's to making it!:faces:

everything is a bit blurry no clear concise concept except the fact that he should have a gentle heart towards creating and be tough on the exterior...

The best approach would be to craft it bit by bit, so you lads can tear it to pieces in order for it to be better!

unfortunatelly i was thinking of a male God
reckon "tig ol bitties" would break the poly count easy :)

i've been doodling for 20 min, thinking about it constantly, but really stretched with RL situations atm. So far i'm focused on the details, small things that will make it work...
as i remember from previous wars that i watched from a safe distance, characters need to have some organic part - they can't all be mechanic or?

The rules change with different wars/briefs. All mechanical is fair game for this war. Your character could be all gears and pistons. A rock with mechanical legs. A tree with mechanical arms. For this war, anything goes so long as its a "God".

Sounds interesting especially where it is able to rebuild and help recreate. I don't know how you would pull it off in the model but it would be interesting to see the recreation process shown in some form or another.

i think i've gotten it down to the main details that make up the character
anyone have any good books to recommend on creating a character concept, i'm weak in this area, but with a little help and strong critique?

No skits yet? You're slacking big time roc. Big time.
Sorry in advance, but now that Sathe decided he is not my internet buddy anymore, I have to find someone else to trash threads.

Don't worry too much about making beautiful concept work, as long as you can convey your idea and details you should be fine...don't waste any time :)

yea you're right about that, but the overall shape is my concern now, but will start with the details and see where they take me

well amongst other competitions, work and taking care of my pregnant missus -i came to realise i have a major problem - i see my God as an force, essence that will be simple glowing form. That will be combined with mechanical exterior, that should look like nothing advance, but something the essence took and made it into something quite extraordinary disregarding it's plane look - the world after everything got destroyed it picked up the pieces to somewhat hide it's initial form and make him work in real world.
The details and gear is all done on a concept base form, but i'm now stuck since i can't decide how to shape his overall form - human figure as a start but where and how from there. Not making a scary monster but a divine God similar to Greek perfection in essence and steampunk functionality in exterior mechanics...
hmmm

not even going to go down the road of explanation what happened that was able to stop me from bringing my creation to life, but i guess it was not his time... yet...
I hate to be the guy that can't finish :P
so i'll do him right and proper, sooner than planned
Excellent entries lads and ladets, hoping 3DT comes out victorious
