Hello there,
it is hard to make up a title at the beginning, when you have almost no clue what you will create, but I think it will do.
My aim is to create a film noir poster, I always wanted to draw something like this. Great opportunity!

I decided to watch a moody film to get myself inspired. I chose The night of the hunter. Robert Mitchum seems to be perfect, for the male lead for my Atomhawk movie. Although he has a difficult character (or maybe I just got rusty).
I haven't decided yet what should be the theme of the film. First a literal approach popped into my head, like what if Atomhawk was a hawk shaped nuclear bomb. But it's too obvious and I don't want my movie to be lame...
As I watched Robert Mitchum I could easily imagine him as a secret agent, or as a raging man, seeking revenge. I'll be sketching a little more before I decide. But in this film he was a perfect psycho.
Nice sketches, I was also thinking along the Maltese Falcon lines. I guess the name just steers you toward classics. I like where you are going with this.

Interesting concept, let's see where you take this :)
That noir style coupled with the style of the maltese hawk looks way cool to me!

Thank you very much guys :)! I have a lot of work lately so my process is painfully slow. I hope I can finish this in time.
I'm still thinking and sketching. I made a few cartoon-like character studies as well. Hope you like them!

I think I have the base drawing for my poster.
I've been thinking a lot about the theme and the story.
I finally decided, that Atomhawk is Robert Mitchum and he is a secret agent. He is spying on a girl who is a member of the communist party. She seduces Atomhawk and they both go down in flames at the end. It sounds a little demotivational I know.
The fifties was the decade of extreme fear of communism in America (it was actual communism here in Hungary :)). I thought of this time, while figuring out the setting and the figures.
The girl will be a sort of evil looking corresponding to the conventions of this age. She is played by an imaginary actress.
