Ok, what i have in mind right now is the character is the first generation of cyborg that get throw into the war. Most mechine part are like armour wear by human female. Design for 1 by 1 battle. Mostly using sword. After die as a legendary warrior, her spirit was "promoted" to become one of the goddess - the goddess of duel. Her body was able to upgrade to another level by having the god like power.
That is what I have so far, and I also have some drawing....
Sorry if my poor English bothers anyone.
DeoxyWater

This is the drawing I have right now.
I want her to looks like she is fast and light.
DeoxyWater
20-03-2011, 08:44 PM
I finished some more drawings.
I took the photo with my phone, so sorry about the quality of the picture.
I am going to fix the proportion and re-draw it in PC sometime this week, and hopefully can start the modeling soon.
Btw, does anyone know how to change the name of the thread, I don't want to leave it as "TBA". Thanks.

Looks interesting. Watch your proportions tho, you've got the head, and legs a bit out of whack at the moment. I like where you're heading with the armor.
To get your thread name changed, you need to PM BigToe, about it. Include in the PM, a link to your thread so he doesn't have to hunt it down, and what you'd like him to change the thread title to.

nice idea, a god of duels expert at dingle combat is going to be a fun one to do.
Duels are often fought for honour, so it would be cool to get that feeling into the character's design, Duels were also a part of the culture in 16th 17th centruy and could be a really interesting feel to introduce a few design elements from that period into the armour designs :)
good luck! I would think you could send a pm to BigToe to get thread name changed to your liking

Thanks for the comment, and I will work on the proportion when I do the digital drawing of this. It is hard to manage the space on paper, I start with the head, and I find no more space for the feet. lol Also, thanks for tell me how to change the thread name.
-L3XICON
Thanks for the comment, but I really want it to be the style of close future. The 16th 17th century idea is actually pretty cool, and I might add some element of that into my weapons. And also, thanks for tell me how to change the thread name.

Definitely some cool details on her. As a Goddess of Duals, one would expect elegance yet strength. Think the Amazonian warrior women from that island that Wonder Woman comes from.
I think even though it's futuristic, doesn't mean it has to be straight lines and mechanical. Adding some sexy curved designs to contour her sexy body will give her a more Goddess like qualities.

Since Curved design will take more tris than straight lines, I am really afraid I will run out of tris for low-poly model, so I keep it low as I can. But I will think about it, thanks for the comment.

nice concept, loving the armor details for her.
curves arnt as much an issue as sharp pointy angles for low poly IMO
last years winners definately had some nice curvy shapes going on...

Thanks for the comments, I will try adding some more curvy shapes when I do the modeling.

The digital concept drawing is settle, and while I am doing the modeling, I will add/change some of the design according to the comments.
One more time, thanks for all the comments
And here is the final concept drawing....

Proportions look much much better. For some reason I want to see something on her face/head, maybe an eye patch. Tho I'm not really sure that suits the character. So perhaps a head/hair band of some sort. Looks good anyway.

Oh man, your first black & white sketch, are you from the secret splotcher congregation too? Simple and efficient. :D
Gl onto da comp' !

I have been thinking about adding something to the face for awhile......cannot think of anything, maybe an eye patch is a good idea, like the Metal Gear Solid 4 one. Don't know yet.
-washka
I always think a lot before drawing, maybe that is why it is efficient. But I don't quite get what you mean the first part. Is it mean it is dirty?! lol
miclepickle
23-03-2011, 03:20 PM
she looks a bit too cute/innocent IMO...
as far as the face goes... the armor looks badass but the body looks innocent.
DeoxyWater
23-03-2011, 04:07 PM
-miclepickle
I think of duel is kind of related to justice or fair game, so there is no need for evil looking, right? If that is what you mean by innocent.
washka
23-03-2011, 05:53 PM
Is it mean it is dirty?! lol
Nope, it means simple things are usually quick and efficient. You don't need to make some clean work for a quick sketch, and if you use those intelligently, a quick sketch can be a big time gain.
When you're onto the conceptual process, go crazy sketches, that's what I mean, dirty, not dirty, who care?
I think that It is only when you're fixed on your idea that some clean stuff is valuable.
Keep it up man!
miclepickle
23-03-2011, 05:53 PM
yeah, i dont think she should look evil, but maybe a little more badass...

I finished some modeling over the shoes, adding way more detail than the drawings....hopefully it looks good.
here it is.....
miclepickle

nice shoe :D... I struggle with designing shoes... well I struggle with design in general, but especially shoes :P
Puckducker
25-03-2011, 03:30 AM
Wow, shoe looks great! Do you have the rest of the body blocked in? I find I can easily start throwing my model off when I don't have at least a base reference for the entire model to work from.

Id have to agree here... infact I find it helpfull to have a pretty decent sculpt of the naked body, then block in the armor/accessories.

Dueling sure requires cold blood. This calm before the storm...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like a lost soul that duels the greatest warriors out there just to remind them their condition: they are human, finite.

I had trouble desiging the shoe for her too, but when the triangle high heel shape idea fly over my mind, it became whole lot easier. Check the fashion magazine or something should help.
-Puckducker
Yeah, I should do that first.
-wil_himura
Since the setting is the first generation of cyborg, I think the mechine AI still affect by human input data a lot, so they think and form more like a human than totally mechine.
-hulahuga
Thanks for the comment.

I like the look of the shoe. Have you considered included more of the shoes overall form in other parts of the design, or maybe less even distribution of detail?
Cheers

I think my design is set....I will add a lot detail when I doing the modeling, but the whole style will stay the same. Thanks for the comment.

Sorry for the slow updating, some family issue....
Here are some screenshots of the leg, not totally finish yet.
I will be working on the torso after the leg, so the proportion won't be off.

Things you could fix:
-Lower part of thoracic cage (use nude references).
-Larger hips (except if you want a childish look) and belly.
Pffff I miss the tits, Big-Toe won't be happy... :)

Legs and stuff look good. I think she could use a few more curves in the torso, but I'll hold off on that till you put it together a little more.
The face needs some proportion tweaks I think. Something like this...
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w303/Warlock279/Mini%20Tutorials/DeoxyWater-FaceProportions_01.gif
The features of the face look pretty good in and of themselves [well except that schnauz; she needs a cute little nose to fit your concept sketch] they just need pushed around a little bit.

With Warlock 279's changes the head looks just ready :P The boots just rocks, If we may expect the same level at the rest of the body this will be a nice mecha thing for sure. Something I wouldn't like dueling :D
DeoxyWater

Thanks for the tweaks, that helps a lot, I will make the change later today. I don't get what you mean by "use a few more curves in the torso".
-wil_himura
Thanks, I will try to keep the rest of the body same level of detail.

Hahaha, ya, those LeewiArt folks are soul crushingly good sometimes. Gotta watch the Russians with the tech bits as well, some crazy mechanical modeling people over there as well.
Face looks much much better now.
As far as "more curves" in the torso, I just meant the same thing as the washka and paulius, more hips and butt, like you said tho, she'll have armor and such, so I wouldn't worry about it now. I'm sure we'll harass later if she's still looking a little too thin in the hips once you get the armor and such on there. ;)
DeoxyWater
08-04-2011, 11:54 PM
-Warlock 279
People going crazy on hard-surface modeling this year....lol
I won't worry about she is too thin right now, I more worry about with the armour, she will be too fatty. My cousin said she looks fat when he saw the concept drawing.
DeadlyFreeze
09-04-2011, 03:36 AM
I wouldn't say fat maybe plump, but don't sweat that now though. It's more important to get your model roughly blocked in then worrying about the small details.

Here are some new update....busy busy this week
Anyway, I finished high-poly body and next will be working on weapons and low-poly modeling.
After the proportion check, I decided to make the head a bit bigger, so it is like 10% bigger than the early version.
Comments are welcome

That bar under her breasts being angular, kinda grabs my attention, might be better if it had some curve to it so it fit her a little better. Otherwise, looks really good.
Are her hands maybe a touch on the small side? Can't tell if it just looks that way because of the armor or not.
DeoxyWater
22-04-2011, 01:03 PM
-Warlock 279
Thanks for the comments, I will do some changes to the bar under the breast. For the hand, it might seens to be small due to the light color part at the tips, but I will check the size.
washka
23-04-2011, 08:28 AM
Wow, impressive design, hot look.
I'm not a big fan of the hand part, those need more "powa".
For stockings, I've seen so much of those that I'm bored to death, sexy but doesn't fit (subjective opinion), I would dig some military mood with all this equipment or a warrior mood. (This last one is a 50 cent comment, majority could looove stockings)
A sexy belly could help. Some weapon? Dig more the "helmet".
If you have the time later try some RIG/posing, so she moves a bit (interpenetration).
Amazing work and great entry so far, really, keep it up!
DeoxyWater
23-04-2011, 03:03 PM

I want the hands to be more clean so it won't pull away the focus point on weapons, but since you mention it is too simple, I will work on it more when I do texture.
For stockings, during the time I draw the concept, I thought it will be cool, but now I kind of feel the same of what you said, I will do some change to it.
Poses will be the last thing I worry about, I will get to it, but not now.
Thanks for the comments, it helps. ^^
