16-03-2011, 10:13 PM
Thanks guys. Here's my concept.
17-03-2011, 12:01 AM
great initial concept
22-03-2011, 11:09 PM
Made a quick sculpt concept of head and upper armor
22-03-2011, 11:18 PM
looks promising! keep rockin
23-03-2011, 10:03 AM
nice start sculpt , looking forward the next up!
23-03-2011, 05:35 PM
gl onto the comp' man, good start, keep it up!
30-03-2011, 11:01 AM
Tj\hanks for support guys!
Finished the sculpt of his head. Crits and comments are welcome.
30-03-2011, 11:08 AM
Nice evolution mate! I find those horns quite interesting :)
30-03-2011, 06:29 PM
Ear shape/position on profile seems a bit weird for me, don't know why.
Keep it up!
30-03-2011, 07:52 PM
Sculpt is looking excellent so far.
The only crit I've got, and its a matter of personal taste, is that I'm not liking the "double layer" the horns have. You've got that really detailed outside "plate" then right underneath is sort of a mushy under developed inside, it kinda makes the outside look like its glued instead of growing. I think it'd look more natural if it were just one layer. Hope that makes sense, cause it feels like I'm talking gibberish.
06-04-2011, 10:41 PM
Warlock 279 I see what you mean. I wanted these layers to submerge into each other as smooth as possible but it didn't work out quite well. I may come back to horns but not now. This was my 3rd try and I'm kind of tired of remaking them for now) Thanks for comment though!
great sculpting! keep it up!
07-04-2011, 09:12 AM
wow, your sculpts are awesome man. Do you create basemesh in a 3d package or is it all Z?
08-04-2011, 03:32 AM
drained spirit thanks. I use Maya for base meshes.
08-04-2011, 04:21 AM
Body is looking pretty good. The leather chest bit is looking excellent, ace detail in that.
12-04-2011, 11:16 PM
Warlock 279 thanks
Another up. Reworked his abdomen a bit. Armor and tail are next.
13-04-2011, 07:58 AM
Looking good! Nice sculpt so far, personally I'm not a fan of the four digits (fingers, toes) but that's a personal preference. To me it tends to look more awkward, but I do really like the scale of the digits.
I'd also like to see some sort of epic weapon of destruction or something. something that gives him a wicked silhouette and makes him look more badass.
keep up the good work!
13-04-2011, 05:21 PM
Like your sculpt man, nice stuff.
Those kind of "bones" poping out, develop that a bit further so it go even more interesting, could add the same kind of thing on forearms and on head maybe .
Keep it up!
16-04-2011, 01:53 PM
Sculpting here looks great Martin! I agree with washka, would be cool to see those protrusions exaggerated and in more places. Whats his weapon going to be like?
16-04-2011, 06:50 PM
22-04-2011, 10:18 PM
Thanks guys. I really appreciate your support!
I tried to strech those bony things out but it didn't look qweit well so I'll keep it the way it is now. And I'm not sure he is going to have any weapon. I know it sucks a God of Destruction without a weapon( I'm working on lowpoly now and I'll see if I'll have enough tris left. If I'll make a weapon it going to be some heavy sword- or hammerlike weapon.
Here's my final highpoly model.
23-04-2011, 12:05 AM
love the look man, looking forward to seeing the texture work
26-04-2011, 06:04 PM
Thanks a lot man!
I finished the lowpoly of the character and I have enough tris left for the weapon. Here is the concept sculpt of his sword. I'll post next update after I'll finish the sword and bake normal and AO maps.
Looking really good. The jawbone looks a bit off. It should have more of a curve going into the chin.
27-04-2011, 02:32 AM
haha cool jacket design!! original!
hi dude! I really like the model's detail! look forward to it!
29-04-2011, 10:21 PM
Thanks guys. I'll play with jawline on my lowpoly model later. Right now I'm reconstructing the mouth area. I still have some tris left so I'll make his mouth openable. For now here's the highpoly of the sword.
30-04-2011, 12:17 AM
Wow, brilliant man !
30-04-2011, 01:59 AM
Whole thing is looking very strong. Really digging the sword design, I think you've hit on something pretty unique there, giving it a slightly dragon head like feel. Can't wait to see how your low poly and bakes turn out.
01-05-2011, 02:13 PM
Thanks. Here are my lopoly models with normal and AO maps. 12300 tris total.
01-05-2011, 03:17 PM
excellent bake and low poly, i cant wait to see it colored!
01-05-2011, 05:42 PM
Great low poly....
01-05-2011, 09:13 PM
excellent low poly indeed
06-05-2011, 07:29 PM
Thanks for comments!
Textures are pretty much done. I haven't done specular yet. I will intensify AO in the fabrick/leather areas so the folds would be visible. I also beveled the bottom edge of the top armor(shoulder area) so it looks smoother now.
Something seems to be off in diffuse but I can't figure out what. Crits and comments are welcome.
06-05-2011, 08:00 PM
I think you used too much green, you should use another color to put together with the green. Maybe some silver or gold.
13-05-2011, 02:19 AM
Vitrux: thanks for suggestion. I actually reworked quite a bit of the diffuse and finished other maps. I thinks it looks better now.
The render and a screengrab from Maya's viewport with default lighting and no gloss(not supported). Critique is more than welcome.
13-05-2011, 08:14 AM
wow! great texture work :D
one thing i see that looks a little iffy is the parts where the bone pieces are sticking out of his skin, the red makes it look like it's ****** as opposed to just the ruddy redness that you would normally see, not sure what you were going for, just an observation.
13-05-2011, 08:48 AM
13-05-2011, 09:28 AM
love it!..just one suggestion...maybe u can try to add red instead of green..the red symbolizes strength and causes excitement, and is associated with blood and the figure of Mars .. the green is usually used for nature, balance and stability and also often associated negative but more to envy, to rotting and poison ... but red or green the rest is still nice ^ ^
13-05-2011, 01:34 PM
I like the logo placement ! I know the final pose will do the trick.
13-05-2011, 04:29 PM
He is better now:D! I still see the green tail too flat. . if you want to try another color with it...
You know, every color in the world is a combination of all the colors. Nothing is just red or just blue or green, if you look in deep, you will find purple, orange, yellow, etc. and depends of the quantity of each one, you will see the final color.
18-05-2011, 08:43 PM
Vitrux, Pappete, Vladimir, DaddyDoom, Pockets: Thanks guys)
Pockets: Those red marks suppose to be kind of blood leftovers. I gues they were too bright. They dimmed now, hope its better.
I made some adjustmets to the diffuse map based on comments. Hope you like it.
18-05-2011, 09:23 PM
Great result Martin, I really like to chest leather texture. any idea for the presentation shot pose? Will it stand like in theese two?
18-05-2011, 09:26 PM
Ok, Now we are talking.... It is much much better now! The tail looks better and the blood is much realistic now.! Good job, keep going!
18-05-2011, 09:58 PM
Looks great . And most important is u finished it :). Good job .
18-05-2011, 11:16 PM
but can he "probe" people with his tail?
19-05-2011, 01:18 AM
wil_himura: I thinks this is prety much going to be presentation shot. Haven't decided about the beauty shot(main image) yet.
BiG ToE-3DT: "Probe"? Not sure what you mean. If you mean slash them than no. But he can grab and squeeze the **** out of them
19-05-2011, 04:02 AM
Final model and texture turned out really nice, great job on that. Not sure about the setup for the presentation shot, don't think it's quite doing the design justice, but beyond that you've got a really great entry.
19-05-2011, 10:06 PM
Here are my beauty, presentation, and construction shots. Was going to go for some action pose on the beaty shot, but with my terrible rig it doesn't come out good at all. So simple poses(
19-05-2011, 10:18 PM
Really good Job Martin_X!! It is the first one a see finished!.. Congratulations and Good Luck

23-05-2011, 07:47 PM
