Concept: Sin - Goddess of the Forsaken
Sin like a Siren will draw in her victims by breaking their will and assimilating their souls growing her power. In front she is beautiful, attractive, seductive, and evil. A glance at her back will reveal her true nature with silently screeming souls assimilated into her body.

Inspired primarily by Poison Ivy or any seductive female luring in the weak willed.

Im still considering how I best want to describe the back side, I might make a hole with arms and heads in agony desperately trying to escape or maybe a mandala that is hiding a much larger demon preparing to consume the next victim.

All right, so I finally got a little time and wiped some stuff up. I found it tougher then I thought. Here is my initial pass. Definitely not there yet.

Im thinking of something more screaming in pain and hellishly scary. It collects souls and eats them. The new souls merge into the God adding to its power. You can see some of the collected souls pushing through the skin in a painful desperation to escape.

I like the idea of creating holes for arms or people trying to squeeze through. I will totally re-do the head with flaming eyes or something and large mouth. Im also thinking of how I can add more surrealistic elements to make it look more visually appealing.

Going to step away from 2d and make some massing studies in 3D!

looks nice, but if I might suggest, crawling pose is for unhappy creatures, not for gods :)

Excellent point! Lets design some standing up and probably redo the face.

Nice concept start so far.

I don't completly agree but you point something really interesting, stereotype, use those or break those.

How does he catches da souls? Those move quite fast, maybe. In fact I don't know.

I quickly thought up several concepts and developed this new one after thinking about your guys suggestions. This was actually closer to one of my original concepts but combined with this idea. I'm switching from god to goddess.

Sin - Goddess of the Forsaken

Similar to a siren, she will draw in and seduce those she wishes to posses. She assimilates Forsaken souls making her more and more powerful. The idea is in the front she is beautiful, seductive, and most definitely evil; the back would be a trap either subtle (like a grotesque spike hand) or obvious like a giant stylized machete. One idea I do like is a portal or hole in her back with souls silently screaming in pain grasping at any passing life.

I pulled these from my sketchbooks sorry if they are too rough. I am going to move onto working on anatomy because I clearly need to get a jump on it.
I would say my biggest inspiration being Poison Ivy from Batman and Kerrigan from Startcraft.

Dailies : Base Mesh - Tinkered around with some settings.

Wow, can't believe its already been two weeks, time to beat feet! Should be making steeper progress tomorrow. I don't usually move this slowly but I'm going to do as much concept 3d work as I can in ZBrush up front and do the topology modeling later. Should be mega fun!

Cheers.

Update from last night.

So I was working on this last night and realized my base zsphere mesh was more off then I hoped. I want to replace the hands and the mesh but I have no idea how so im gong to need to go back to the basics and re-zsphere the base mesh.

If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear how I can swap a head on a ZBrush base mesh, ideally without leaving ZBrush. This would save me loads of time.

Overall this is awesome practice :D
Cheers.

You really don't need all that much. (http://forums.cgchannel.com/showthread.php?t=12445) It just needs to come out clean, and divided somewhat evenly.

You can always use Zsphere Mass building tools, or ReMesh, but you'll loose the loops that come in handy for masking.

I'd say at this point you might as well just build a new basemesh from spheres, and build on the what you learned from your first basemesh. It's tough to add new distinct elements like fingers to a mesh in zbrush when you're dealing with a continuous form like the body.

There's still plenty of time in the competition, and a bad base mesh is just going to make the next 6 weeks much more difficult, so might as well try to keep the best foot forward right from the start.

Thank you Crispy and Puckducker.
I went with round two of re-doing the original ZSpheres. Any new changes I will certainly be adding the masses with more ZSpheres + ReMesh + Projection

As recommended I developed a new base mesh and started developing. Im at this point where it might make more sense to split the body up into multiple parts and work on it so I can get more levels of division without enter HD geometry.

I've tinkered with ZBrush for years but never this deep. Soooo Awesome. Having a blast and learning so much. This is actually my first CG anatomy, which I'm sure you can tell.

At this point in the design I would like to focus on just getting the basic anatomy down then I will be moving on to cloths and other magical pieces. I have a feeling those will be the easy parts. C&C much desired and appreciated :D

Cheers!
