Dominance War V - 3D - Nuclear Goddess - Poppaea

Hello,

It's my first post, and the first time I go to War! Also I'm a french speaker, sorry in advance for the mistakes :D

So, this Nuclear Goddess is inspired by the recent events in Japan; that made me remember the incredible power and dangers of the nuclear energy.
For the moment I imagine her like a capricious and very very dangerous little girl. With a personnality approaching the "Daddy-I-Want-A-Pony" girl's from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". In this case it would be: "Humans-I-want-water-now!"

This might change.

Humans didn't realize the error it was to create her.
She looked good at the beginning.
Safe, wasteless, powerful,
But then came instability, explosions and deseases,
And it was too late.

Now that you are traped with her,
Beware!
Never approach her,
Never let her be thirsty,
And never ever upset her!

Yes, all Gods were created by humans. Most of them by humans imagination. These Gods were really powerfull but weak as they die once there is not enought humans believing in them. Other Gods like the Nuclea Goddess were created by science.

However, I realized I had absolutely no inspiration concerning this Nuclear Goddess, so I completely changed my mind. x)

I did some sketches with Alchemy, and finally picked number 7

So here is... Minn' Hou; Da God of Despah!

Minn' Hou have always dreamed to be a Lolcat. He worked hard at school to master the art of Lolcats' grammar, and reproduce all the funny faces.

After six years, Minn' Hou's dream was close to be fulfilled. Only one exam left.
Minn'hou correctly spelled "Cheezburger", and even managed to make the "I iz ten ninjas" figure.
But the jury was merciless. "U are not cute. U'll nevah evah be a Lolzcat"

"I are heartbroken :'(" said Minn' Hou.

Minn' Hou turned his heart upside down so that pain could become happiness.
It didn't work.

Sad and angry, Minn' Hou decided that if he couldn't be happy, then no one would be.
From this day and to the end of time, Minn' Hou traveled the world, sowing despair, depression and doing the fortune of psychologists.

I read the rules again Yesterday:
"Create a powerful GOD that shall defeat all other gods and determine the future of the universe forever more!!"
"The time period for this challenge is set in the utterly destroyed and distant future."

Well obviously Minn'hou the poor not-lolcat doesn't fit that description.

So, I found another God ( and I think it will be the last one or I'll be late... ) :wall:


May 16th, 2011: It's the end of war. It has been a great battle.

May 18th, 2011: Media reports strange events have occurred: witnesses talk about titans, gigantics robots and sexy women with big boobs.

May 21th, 2011: Some CG artists recognize their creations on TV. It seems the DW V Gods have somehow escaped from the computers.

May 31th, 2011: The Gods fight among themselves. They're destroying each other. And the planet. And the humans on the planet. Oops.

June 2th, 2011: The death of Justin Bieber is announced publicly. A great party is organized and DaddyDoom wins a special award. The situation's not so bad after all.

June 10th, 2011: Humanity realize that to survive Gods, they need a God themselves. A God able to fight 3D giants. So they create Troidé, the God of Polygons.

The War for survival begins.

First image is the reference that gave me the idea, Harlequin from Assassin's Creed

Second: body and weapons research.

Third: quick color research. Xyz axes on the body.

What do you think of him?

I really like the idea of the jester [they're always fun to see/work with] but I think the body shape of Minn' Hou is far far more interesting and would probably make for a better god. I agree the LOLcat god, probably isn't the best of gods, idea wise [tho those stupid cats can annoy even the most hardy of warriors to their breaking point] that's no reason to abandon the character sketch. You can always write a new story to fit him.

What if you combined the two ideas? Kept Minn' Hou's shape, but added some of the elements and the story of the Polygon God.

Warlock 279 -> I've started working on Minn'hou as you suggested. ^^ For the story, I like your idea to combine elements from the two concepts, thanks. I've not find yet, but I'm "cogitating". x)

Yeah, you're right. Friends at school told me he looked more like the stooge of a god than a god himself. :haha:

This subject just don't inspire me. I'll shearch for a brilliant idea, if find nothing, well, I'll start counting the days remaining before Dominance War VI. :p

Just needs more poise and confidence to the character. He looks a little unfortunate and unhappy right now, which doesn't help sell the god idea.

But definitely lots of time to keep going! And I wouldn't hold your breath for DW6, this is supposed to be the final one. So make it count!

He fits the back story very well. He gives off a great despair and depression vibe. If you were going for the god of kick assery it wouldn't work. But I think the "stooge" look should be what your going for.

On a side note a septer of sorts would look real good with this character.

Nope but if your god has enough power to make the ohers gods completly depressed, he wins.

Agree a bit with the "stooges" side but it depends how you can turn out this one. The concept is really original (imo).
Just try to emphasize it more, how can he makes the other gods completly depressed/depressive? Sharing his mood?
Push da dark "I'll make you completly despressive too" side of da force.

Its appearance can participate to that, there is plenty of tracks from the point where you are atm, it's not a dead end.
Work the face, expression, attitude (posing), animal or demon side, wings part, the accesories, the volumes, your backstory can help too, there is plenty of possibilities for that. Millions.

Yep, what washka said. Work that face, give him a wicked cheshire cat like grin [or frown]. A staff, rod or scepter as Kaiune suggested, make it creepy, [maybe even have his heart on the staff]. Maybe work in some more angular features, a pointier snout, boney, claw-like fingers [he'd need something sharp to get at his heart]. Really get in there and twist and gnarl that flesh where he ripped his heart out. Make the feathers in his wings, EPIC.

I still think there's loads of potential here. You're not the only who's not feeling the whole "god" subject this time around. It really is kinda awkward territory. Whats the difference between a super-powered-god-like-warrior, and a warrior-god anyway? Like Puck said tho, don't count on there being a 6, it was a rocky road getting from 4 to 5, so definitely make the most of it if you can.
