Hi guys.

nice start :)
be very nice to see the spirit and nature of the forest in the character, skin like bark? or moss and growth.. maybe.
Look forward to seeing how you take this forward

thanks washka
@ L3XICON: thanks. there gonna be plenty of bark and moss...and flowers too :)
been playing around with some bark structure. not sure if i like it...have to think of somewhat, that makes him look more like a god and not some kind of a half wooden guy :)

Ooh, I like this. Are you going to give him something around his neck or on his right shoulder? It kind of looks bare in that area.

great 3D blocking. You are so talented :) you have gone ahead and created a fullfledged 3D block of your work and following it up later with the 2D concept which also looks awesome. great going. Are you plannning to go for any weapons, or wand as such. Just asking :)
MrFunk

@wil_himura: your goddes just got a rendezvous ;) but winning the war comes first :D
@drained spirit: thanks :) yeah gonna give him a wand later.
blocked in some anatomy and started to play around with his head.

I have to say that he looks more like an imp than a god. Sorry, but I have to be honest.
Still, he looks good, though.

all you need to do to make him more god like is show his scale. So, where you have the leafs and what not hanging off his body, make them trees, or something like that.

Does a god really have to be that big(toe)?
Funk - Definitely stronger concept in the latest iteration, keep it up!

I can see what they're saying about it looking a little impish. Perhaps, something of a beard, and maybe give him a staff, those both seem to be "godly" traits. Sculpt looks good so far.

A bushy (lol) beard would look awesome on this concept.

Just picked up on the posts in this thread and it got me thinking about what you said regarding scale BigToe. This is the one thing I'm finding hard to get a handle on. It seems easier to add scale to a male character as you can exagerate features a bit more but with a woman it seems more difficult. Any suggestions of how this can be achieved or can you think of other ways to make a character godlike without scale?

well...we can clearly see now that everyone has totally different perceptions of a god. i for example just can't see a forest god being huge :) for me such a god should be much smaller( being a giant and living in a forest kinda doesn't work out for me^^) and look somewhat peaceful. and that's the direction i'm trying to follow
time for an update. made a new head and sculpted some wood :) there's still so much to do and the time's running :(

I don't think that Scale is what defines a god. Though it is probably the easiest thing to push. The really difficult thing with this DW is making the it look like a God not a follower. I think your heading in the right direction though I really love his face. I definitely think you are heading in the right direction.

Looking really good...I love the birds just hanging out on him. I also think the scale is perfect, btw...

nice sculpt! looking great, but in the future slow down the turntable a bit!
the only thing im not really sure of is the placement of the logo, it doesnt feel like it fits with the model as is.

Great job! Move to the lowpoly. There isn't much time left.

Really nice stuff, overall sculpt feels strong. I'd say he's a little too symmetrical overall for being composed so much of organic elements, but I'm sure you can tweak a lot of that in your low poly once it's built and you're not dealing with the sculpt.
MrFunk

finished the lowpoly mesh and did a testbake. it's almost texturing time :)

One of the best entries on this forum. Great job!
The blunt looks lighter and less saturated than the rest of the wooden pieces. Maybe its because of the light though.

thanks martin, glad you like it. the blunt should be a little bit more saturated now.
