Here are a few brainstorming sketches. I am not 100% satisfied with the direction, but I think I am getting closer. I want to do an animalistic goddess, with natural armor/clothing. I am not sure about the wings yet. Expect more to come soon. Detailed description and name to come soon.

Great start! That middle one reminds me of Bahamut, love it!

None of them look particularly feminine at the moment, but the middle one with the wings I think has the most interesting shape. Also if you want to do an "animalistic" goddess, you can always think about an animal head as well, a-la the old Egyptian gods, might be an interesting direction to explore.

Posted an update. Worked on some armor ideas. More sketches to come soon. I will begin modeling soon as well!
