Nice - digging the punk/hipster kinda look that the girls got goin on - gives her some real character. Only thing i'd suggest with the composition is possibly moving her up or cropping the top - so as to bring her eyeline to the top third of the composition - seems a little too centered at the moment - ie too much white space on the top in my opinion. Keep up the good work man, looking forward to seeing it colored up.

Blender-Man, Cheers.
atahan_zugul, Thanks man, I see what you’re saying about the composition :)
Once I get the girl painted up I'll play around with her position.
I'm still thinking about ideas for what's in the background.
migroe, Thanks.
The rough idea for the back story to this image is.
It's some far off time in the future something has happened to the sun.
The planet is almost in total darkness.
This has resulted in the creatures of the dark preying on the weak and vulnerable.
But there is one hope left, AtomHawk, the girl with the mysterious power to bring light.
Here's the latest on the image, wanted to play around with her eyes, to give her a slightly strange, odd look.
Not sure, but I'll live with it a while and see how it looks.

Nice work man - its really coming along. Your color palette is looking quite saturated even in the shadows, is this the direction you heading in? Also i keep fluctuating between her eyes and the light coming from her hands - maybe competing focal points - or this where you were looking to go with the piece. Keep it up man, look forward to seeing where you take it next.

Yeah, I agree with Blender, the black part of the left eye is way too big.

DaddyDoom Thanks mate.
atahan_zugul Great feedback, Not sure yet about the strength of the colour palette. I'm going to push it along as it is and I can always pull the colours down a bit later. You could be right about the competing focal point, once I get the glowing light in I'll have to make a decision about that one.
MemoNick Blender-Man MemoNick thanks guys, yeah I'm still not sure about the eye's, could be the left is just a bit too big.
Trying to get as much done as time will allow, hope I can make the deadline!
Here's the latest :)

Okay now it's time to start working in the light and glow from her hands and I've just blocked in a background, need to start to get a feel for what will work.
Still need to go back and have another look at her eyes!

Looking good man, time is really short - i kno how you feel dude! Just a note - i'd go without the lens flare - its a pretty cliched and over used lil effect, i reckon if you push the light and add some sub surface scatter effect to the fingers and even to the nose it would be a much 'healthier' effect overall. Additionally it might help to add some backlighting/rim lighting to the girl if you're going to use a dark and similar color background as her - it'd help bring the focus to her and make her pop from the background. Another thing to consider is adding some wetness/specular highlights to the eyes to make them pop more - theyre receding into shadow at the moment. Take it or leave these comments at your artistic discretion man - i only write this stuff coz i rarely see anyone putting up constructive criticism - which in my opinion is the only way one improves. Otherwise keep it coming man!! lookin really cool! Good Luck.

I agree with atahan_zugul the lens flare is the weakest element rest is beautiful.

elgama dalton_muniz Thanks guys :)
atahan_zugul Thanks’ great input mate! I've not used any Photoshop lens effects, they are just vector shapes created in illustrator then blurred and layer effects added in PS, but I will do more to the overall "glow and light".
Background rim lighting is a must, she will need to pop out from the background as it will be quite dark. The eyes defiantly need some work!!
I'm a bit further on than this latest post, so with a little luck and juggling work commitments should just make it :)
Blender-Man Cheers man hopefully I'll sort the flare and glow!!

Dude - really cool - the background you painted up really sells the image - awesome paint up. Still not sold on the lens flare look, but hell - its open to artistic impression i guess - to each his own. Cant wait to see the final product - definitely be rooting for it to be in the top 3. Keep it comin man.
