Futurisctic Roman Designs

Anyone ever wonder what the world would be like now or in the future if the Roman Empire hadn't fallen???

No....didn't think so. Hmmm.....well I thought it might be a cool idea to do some wee designs. I'm tryin to get a futuristic roman look.....am gonna do some buildings and maybe some mechs too....all with a roman flavour.

still need to do some more designs and modifications on this character.....weapons, maybe banners and stuff......but thought I'd put him up here.
Might make some 3D models sometime too.....but hopefully get some more concept art done and posted first :)

Just thought I'd add another drawing anyways.....this is a "mecha-turion" that I started.....a kinda mechanical centurion (yeah yeah....crap name). Anyways, I'm just workin on little bits n pieces of it.....I got a few more bits done but not coloured yet....so I'll post em too later.

thanks for the comments there.....if you do start to model one of the arms....make sure ya mention it to me....I'd quite like to see :) I might model some of myself later too.....I wanna make sure i got the whole character designed nicely first tho :p

i had a lot of trouble with max at first too :p i had to remove some files from the plugin's directory.....seems to work ok now.

Great stuff..... don't forget a tower shield of some sort and a ancient-looking futuristic weapon some thing like shock lance from Unreal 2 ( atleast that's what comes to my mind)

back from me holidays......nice to see a few replies to my thread.....thanks guys :D

Holo-3DT - As far as colouring went.....I basically made a pallete of about 5 or 6 colours.....filled the whole character with the lightest colour, and then painted each shade on top, 1 by 1...starting with the lightest thru to the darkest.....I'm using a wacom and photoshop. anyways, I might make a wee tutorial sometime so I mention it on here if I do. I'm not sure if it's the best technique, but I was trying to make something similar to the shading style that Feng uses with marker pens...only using a tablet instead.

I've done a few drawing while away on holiday.....so I'll have to scan them and colour them soon. Not really got time tho just now.....moving house this week :p I have a few full body drawings too......I was trying to draw figures using no reference at all.....so hopefully they look ok :p

Great idea Ross. I love your linework - really bold exterior inks.
The faceplates on the woman & half tank guy kind of remind me of shredder from tmnt & I think the faces could use a little more detail generally seeing as the bodies have so much. great stuff so far though.
