With <b>Rich Dirt</b> you can procedurally add aging effects and dirt to your models in <b>3ds Max</b>.

I haven't tried it out yet, but it's a quick way of adding an extra layer of polish when you don't feel like laying out UVs, makin' more textures, etc.

It's exactly like Vray dirt but for Mental Ray.

Well Freespace... I thought it was cool! I wonder if it is something you could possibly render to texture. Even if not that is pretty awesome for those render artists out there... I think Vray dirt is closer to an AO though and not really like this.

That one is based on AO too. Vray dirt can do the same, but maybe it's easier to get the streaks effect with Rich Dirt (presets...).
As they say in the "Features" section, the main thing is that it works for Mental Ray ("Inner Occlusion" is called "invert normal" in Vray dirt).
