Hi,
I am new here and wanted to try out the Dom V competition. I saw the competition for Dominance war V and at first I didn't want to try it out. But an idea came to me and I decided to try it out even though I may not finish by deadline. Bear with me, there's a few things i want to explain.
My take on a god is a being of power, a being that is immortal. Well Since being immortal means cannot die, i was thinking of doing some kind of god dealing with time. There was a few people who tried doing a god of time also.
My idea for it is kind of influenced by a few things. One is the living tribunal from marvel comics(pretty much Marvel comic's god). I wanted to include 3 heads for my god. Each head represents an age and a time period. The main head is an adult aged face while the other head would be an aged face and last face would be a young/baby face. Each one would be also shown in a specific way that conveys some kind of symbolism. The old face would have everything covered up except the eye area. The baby face would have most of the face covered up except the mouth area. The old face represents the future while the baby face represents the past. What I hear about is people always talking about the past, but also people seeing the future. You know how it goes, we always daydream and see our futures, and as for the past we always talk about our past. The regular adult face would have nothing covered up, i was thinking about adding ears but wouldn't be possible with 3 heads. The regular adult face won't have anything covered up thus kind of representing the idea of our senses are always immersed in the present.
I was thinking of some things i can do with design and how i can convey the god of time. Well one thing I wanted to do is do some armor but wasn't sure how to design it. Then I was looking around for pictures and I saw dinosaur pics and though of a great idea to put a type of triceratops bone helmet on the god. The main thing is the fact that a triceratops has 3 horns which in a way goes with the 3 faces of time.
Another key component that my character will have is he has a staff that controls time, this staff when wielded would age the appendage eons and eons. Therefor even a god may show some wear and tear. That arm itself is going to look malnutrition and thin and somewhat old looking too. I thought it would have a nice contrast look to it.
Now, here are a few things I may need this community's opinion on.

1. First the overall design, I started out some sketches and overall im not a great sketch artist. The single most important thing in any design to start off is silhouette. After sketching a few times I think its best if my character has a thinner look to it. I am not sure if my god of time would look right if he was some what buffed up. After seeing some of the sketches can you guys pick a specific sketch you like or an silhouette i should follow? Any suggestions on it? Im struggling to find a good silhouette that stands out.
2. Next is the arm issue and some things i may want to add to my god. Here is the thing I was thinking of. I was thinking that since this is the god of time, which equates to fourth dimension. I was thinking about having it have 4 arms. I have a few sketches and I am not sure if it would fit the look. I wanted to do this because each arm would be holding something to represent each dimension. One arm Holding a spear that represents a line(first dimension). Another arm holding a triangular or square type of shield(Flat plane, 2nd dimension), the third arm holding or creating some kinda energy ball or maybe a cubic gauntlet(third dimension), and of course the last arm holding the staff that aged the arm representing time (fourth dimension) What do you guys think of this idea and would it be too much and too busy for my character?
3. Last is the type of things my god would be wearing. I already have the head armor with triceratops helmet. I wanted to put additional armor but not any armor. My god has lived through the earliest of times and through history he picked up different armor artifacts and put it on himself. I wanted to put armor that shows it aged through time, rusted up and all damaged. Now, I wanted to do a damaged rusted shoulder armor plate and also a type of Dinosaur rib cage type of armor for the chest and stomach area. And maybe another type of metallic rusted armor on its legs. Same thing with the arm, do you guys think its too much to convey and would it be too messy of a look if i do that for my character? Should I just stay with one type of armor(boney type of armor) I didn't want to do too many type of metallic armor pieces since I wanted to show this is some kind of god not some kind of warrior looking god.
Any suggestions and other ideas would be appreciated. I'm hoping I can get the sketches and overall proportions and silhouette fleshed out and I'll start on the 3d part with zspheres in zbrush. Its going to be kinda tight but hopefully i can finish it or at least complete most of it.
The back story is still being fleshed out but i'll probably have that done shortly, I want to get the base 3d mesh and high poly model started soon so I can try to push this thing out asap.
