maybe someone can give me a hand here. i want to export from poser to max - which is no problem. file>> export. but the problem is that the model i get in max is immensly heavy polygon-wise. is there any way to lighten the model in poser, first?

thanks.

As far as I know, Poser deals a lot with morphs but it has no modeling features;
have you tried breaking down your scenne/model into its basic components and then importing the various parts separatelly?

I find it strange that youīd have problems handling big models im Max and not in Poser, it should be the other way around.

Unless itīs the transition part thatīs giving you trouble.

it's not difficult for just the one model, but when u have a scene which has 15-30 poser models, it gets rather heavy. importing as several different objects just makes it worse. oh well.

I did a movie in max with Poser models.. all I can suggest is, once you've exported to max, to apply a multi-res modifier and set the res down to about 20% to do all your animating.

If this isn't practicle for what you're doing, then I'd just avoid Poser all together!

Well if they're only meant as props in the background you can always slap on a optimize modifier.
Otherwise try viewing your scene in bounding box mode.

Only things I could think of.

haven't tried the optimize modifier - i'll c if that helps. because it's not just the viewing in max, it's the render as well.

ben - no need for animtaion, i just need hem as dummies in stills...

thanks all.
