Ok ladies and gents, your pathetic newbie had previously decided to post her concept art in the WIP forum, but decided on a smarter note to post in the right one.

Again, I don't have any computer or much art experience, so if my art sucks, it's all right, I know, you can flame me. The first pic, if it posts (hopefully), is of Tiffani something from Fastlane. Never watched it, so...dunno who she is. She looks like a character I want to incorporate into my animations. I've joined up with dizzygurl1234 and her little sis (she's registered with her older sis on 3dkingdom.org) to make some Harry Potter/fantasy animations. I'm a big fan of HP and there ARE adult fans out there, so don't make fun of me! I saw some other HP modeling.
I'm using 3ds max, and just started a couple of days ago. There will be bunches of concept art in this thread, I'll explain the backstories and all soon...

Actually I would say there's potential in you, although I don't know how old you are. I really like the way you did the hair, the sharp lines mixed into the shading work nicely. Compare the style of that to the way you've marked out the eyebrows and there's a lot of difference. The eyebrows have been drawn over-carefully and as a result look a little amateurish. The hair by comparison is more free. Well that's how it looks to me anyhow. I say you should be more free with your lines. Really mean them.

When I was a teen, I used to love Tiffany Amber-Thiesen when she was in the "Saved by the Bell." Don't really like her much now tho'.

Same character, different bod. Wanted to mix up the two to make my new girl baddie. This pic is of Psylocke, a Marvel character from a old comic I found. I used to be obsessed with Marvel way before it became popular again recently.

MonteCristo: Yeah, I did draw the lines a little hard but that's because my scanner sucks and the last time I tried to scan it it didn't show up. The photo reference I was using had her eyebrows done up like that. Thanks for critiquing!

OK, here's a concept from a game that one of my guy buddies is programming (or at least he says he is). It's Irkalla or whatshername from the Epic of Gilgamesh. I think she writes the names of the dead in her book. The color was done with pastels since I don't have Photoshop on my new computer, or anything besides paint, which obviously isn't the greatest. The drawing was enormous (It has Gilgamesh mourning on the left, a half-bird god guy with ****** talons on the right ripping apart poor Enkidu on the bottom), and I could barely fit in this part of the picture...so the pastels smeared, the picture is smushed inwards, and the lines aren't very dark. It looks much more dramatic when you see the real thing. Her hand is screwed up cause I had to flip and mess around with the scan since it was upside down and skewed. The red blob on the bottom is part of "Gilgamesh" written in cuneiform or whatever Mesopotamians wrote in - never paid much attention to ancient literature! Not going to repeat the backstory to Gilgamesh, it's way too long! Sorry I ain't drawing the "typical" concept art that I've seen others post...More pics coming up soon...please critique!

I don't think you read what I said properly.

The hard lines of the hair were good. They were drawn with a free and confident hand, this is what you need to have to be a good illustrator. :)

The eyebrows were drawn poorly with little attention to detail, as though they were scribbled on without the same confidence. Like you were fiddling a bit too much. Avoid doing this. It has nothing to do with the reference image.
