I created my own humanoid/biped mesh & fitted it to the standard humanoid rig (all in 3DS Max 2012), skinned it, added bones & an animation layer, switched to animation mode, .....and something apparently went wrong.
The rig walked fine, but the model didn't move. It just stood there.
I tried it with a standard humanoid model from Mudbox, & it all worked fine. I tried it with a humanoid model I downloaded, & it all worked fine.
So, my question: What do those guys have that my guy doesn't?
My model is unfrozen, so that's not it. Am I missing some essential step in preparing my model for animation?
(why yes, I am sort of a noob.)
