What's Next?

I got a few ideas of what we could do next, but it's not up to me. That would be up to you all.

But to get the ideas flowing, I'll start us off this these:

WTF, it would be a character, or creature. Basically, when you look at it, you say WTF.

Vehicle, we haven't done one in a long time.

Infantry Soldier, I know we just finished the war, but I'm thinking this could still be fun. It makes everyone foucus on the same thing. No big muscled up guys, aliens or creatures. Just the lowest of the low as far as the battlefield goes.


any other ideas you guys may have, toss them out.

Like pick any two out of a list and make into one character:

Why not keep it simple? Something like 'Soldier' is simple but gives a lot of freedom. I totally support that.

Im watching the trailer to Old Republic at the moment and I could totally get behind a Star Wars comp. Or even an "Just announced at E3 comp" make something that would fit in the universe of one of the recently announced games. That would give a good amount variety.

Looking over all the ideas, I think the best is the Chess Piece. The contest could be re-creating a chess piece of your choice, because really, anything can be a chess piece; you just put it on a turn table.

Take a famous quote, and make anything you want, as long as the final image adds something to, or subverts the quote.

I just wanted to suggest something that is more about the image, and how clever you could be with it. Helps to give the people with good ideas, and less experience a chance.

I think were already voting on this. But a vehicle could fit in to the chess piece idea. depending on the vehicle that is.

@Kaiune, I think the 3DT Staff should limit the contest to chess piece re-modeling, i.e. giving a new look to a pawn or any other existing chess piece. If you really think about it, any model could be a chess piece if you put it onto a turn table.

Well yes but it would need to fit in to and convey the archetype of one of the chess pieces. so you could make a Motorcycle (vehicle) + rider to make a modern knight.

While you can say any thing could be a chess piece, I would think in order to win the model would need to ring as the corresponding chess archetype.
