View Full Version : Mental Ray 3.2 with Maya 5 Problem.

My problem is two fold. First, when trying to use Mental Ray with my Model, my program just crashes. If I take some nurb and poly elements away from the model, lessening the detail, it will then Render with Mental Ray..But.. certain Nurb tesselations are very low and not at the higher quality in which the nurb tesselations are set to. I have rendered using Maya Software Render and the nurb models look perfect.
So my questions are these... Is there a limit to the mount of Poly and Nurbs models you can have to use within a Mental Ray Render? And is there a way to make sure all Nurb Tesselations are set to the highest quality within a mental ray render? And if anyone might know why my system is crashing during Mental Ray, (perhaps some setting in Mental Ray that allows it to render anything, but which might sacrifice render time), etc.
