Inspired by so many amazing works on this subject I decided to make my own interpretation of the Leviathan.
It was after seeing the work of Jason Chang in the amazing book Spectrum 17,
that I really felt like doing my Leviathan. Also the famous Magic the Gathering card illustration by Tedin, was a strong reference.
I wanted it to seem believeable, like a rare creature encounter of massive proportions. I felt the need to put a human element for scale besides the first person point of view.
I initially thought of another option, but it would give the leviathan a predator feel and I didn't want it to be a giant killer but rather a giant errant who has been swimming through the oceans for a really long time.
As usual, all done in Zbrush, Max and Vray. Post production in Fusion, Photoshop and After Effects.
Comments are more than welcome
