View Full Version : Nightmare - Ojah
Seems i'm the first one :).
Got some inspiration from the movie "the thing" and started sketching. Sketch feels like its already going in the right direction, will probably get a few more limbs and i want it to look a bit more slimey.
comments and critique is always welcome of course!

Looks something from the game called Resident Evil :)
Thanks guys, took me a while to see the zombie octoroc, but once the eye was seen, it was hard to unsee it... Well, heres a little update, let me know what you think :).

Very creepy solid concept.
I don't envy having to rig that though.
Cant wait to see it in 3d

lookin pretty b.a.!
I think having the extra undead limbs is really cool, do you plan on adding any eyes? I kinda can imagine just a jumble of eyes being held together by sloppy flesh :P
Thanks! A bit of a sloppy update for today, will probably start 3d now while refining the concept. Made the image a bit wider and removed some of its teeth to make it more "readable". Also removed some dumb stuff and tried to make the anatomy a bit better.
About eyes, the idea was to keep him eyeless, but i'll give it a shot in my next concept update.
Let me know what you think about the changes :)

Very nice man, really dig it :). Think the many small teeth were almost scarier though, but that's me ;)
Looking forward to see what you do!
Dude!
Awesome concept so far! :D
I really love the asymmetrical style of the monster and the scars & stitching all over the place. The arms look really cool as well!
I do agree with Hulahuga that the earlier version with more, smaller teeth seems scarier and personally im not a big fan of the teeth on the tongue..
I'll be curious to see what it looks like when it comes into 3d ;)
Keep it up!

this looks really cool by the way..
Completed the concept and about to start the 3d after some dynamesh tests. Not sure about the colors yet so help me decide please :). Dark or light head? (also added a version with eyes, but i dont think i'll go that way)
the dark head it looks more like a hungry creature

Dark no eyes
Same here, dark & no eyes. The eyes look gimmicky for some reason..
With the dark head you could go for a style of almost rotting and disgusting looking flesh :P

Ojah how is it going? Concept looks great and scary. I'd like to see how it looks in 3D, especially with the eyes.
Thanks for the replies, took some time before i started on the 3d because of a big sprint at work. And with 10+ hours of 3d at work it's hard to continue at home...
Should be able to post an update when i get back tonight.
Just finished the basemesh, tomorrow, sculpting :)
edit, self-crit: It seems like it could do with some more volume in the shoulder, the big arm and its legs. And i could take the piece of its mouth on top of the head a bit further.
