That goes for most (if not all) "new" movies based on originals.
New Total Recall for instance was fun to watch with all the CGI violence, but the original is just a classic.

I would just create a plane and apply a texture to it with text and images, and then use an opacity map to make the thing transparent. Then just model the plane in the shape you want.

You can select the object, go to the hierarchy...

You can select the object, go to the hierarchy tab tab and select to move the pivot point. You can then use the align tool to align the pivot to the object the way you like to.
