Here's my entry for this SMC
model and materials in 3DS Max 2011, Post Production in Composite, making of the entry poster in PS.
I had plenty of time left to continue modeling the robot considering the 90min we've got, but due to my own spare time i had for this i started right away with the materials and stuff.
The environment are basic primitives with some extrusions and with the greeble modifier on top of that.. (how quick you can make a sci-fi environment with greeble
I screwed the material for it but i was lucky to fix it in composite. (see the firery-bomb-like colors in the original render)
Since I didn't had Photoshop installed on my laptop when i was ready in Max I gave Composite a try and i loved it! a little figuring out how to, and I was quite content with the result.
(color curves, blur, glow and some blend&Comps with the render passes)
