Hello. I am working on creating an accurate model of a 25 mm chain gun.
I have been working on this model for a long time. I have spent a lot of time looking for reference. recently I bought the tech manuals for this gun so it has made the modeling process a little bit easier. still a bit of a complicated design tho and it has quite a few parts. Almost done ![]() This gun is just a small part of a much larger project. I think I must have modeled a few thousand parts already for the project and theres still much left to do. At first I was having a hard time and was taking long to make parts but now that I have refined my techniques I am able to make parts quicker and am able to make more complicated parts. I have some other weapon models in the works which are of equal quality. Hope you guys like so far comments and feedback would be much appreciated![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by samson; 01-06-2012 at 06:40 AM.. |

Phalanx WIP
Thank you.
here is another project I am working on. Phalanx CIWS This is one of my first models I started working on. I stopped working on it due to lack of reference but now that I have all drawings for the vulcan cannon and a lot of drawings of the phalanx. I can finish it now. I also stopped working on it because my computer could not handle the model. Now that I upgraded some parts I do not have any excuses!!! After I finish the Bushmaster I think I may work on this one. I have some other projects that are closer to completion. ![]() ![]() ![]() Another model, of a mk 38. Its crucial that I make the Bushmaster accurate because I will be able to incorparate it into other projects such as the mk 38. Also plan on modeling the Rafael rcws 30 in the future as well, which uses the bushmaster as the primary weapon. so yeah.. mk 38 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by samson; 24-03-2012 at 08:35 AM.. |

Thank you for the complments
![]() paulius-st: Thank you ![]() Bob Marley: thank you. Yes you can obtain the shader online. It is not free. The guy who made it originally was not willing to share it at first. I had to keep bugging him until he released it, lol. But yes you can get the shader. It is reasonably priced I believe. Here is the link http://mikeanashtuts.blogspot.com/p/...ials-pack.html ClassicGamer-3DT: Thank you Sir. A lot of sleepless nights went into this model. Glad you like it ![]() Some new renders. I know I keep saying its almost done. but this time. Its almost done. Really.. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks really good and those shaders... (love)
I think you should edit your first post and change attachment cos I really didn't expect this kind of content by just looking at your thread's thumbnail!

"Kill Em All"
Nice modeling indeed, some nice and complex shapes coming out of this. Since it is Hard surface and I am guessing it will stay in your native software, don't worry about topology "too" much if it will no be deformed and give us some crazy details! =)
