"its doesnt work" - may i try guessing that its causes skining issues?
before scaling save your skin settings . than unskin your mesh and scale your rig and mesh how you want. than put skin on the mesh again and load skin settings back. this works for me. |

did you do it in the way i suggested you?
cause if you scale the rig with a skinde mesh on it it gives me the same error but when i delete the skin modifyer and scale the rig alone it scales perfectly. all left to do is scale my mesh at the same value as my rig and import skin data to the new skin modifyer. and no error or other BS . |

yeah i did try that mate and i don't get an error but it dosent resize it it seems to stay the same size
problem is my character is 27cm tall and i need him about 1.7m tall around the size of a human think im just gonna have ta pay some one to sort it for me. dude thanks for ya help am i right in thinking that i need to scale the rig because when it comes to lighting and modeling the rest of the scene etc everything should be set up to the right scale for best results? cm's for example. so character 180cm ,doors 200cm etc so the lighting works out correctly Last edited by needse; 11-04-2012 at 04:24 PM.. |

that line in the script won't work unless the skin modifier is selected.
All the script will be doing is turning off always deform (skin modifier, advanced settings) , applying the same scale factor to the mesh as the rig parent and then turning it back on again - which you can do by hand quite easily. no need to take skin modifiers off or any of that (slightly unreliable) business why they hid the always deform tickybox in there I don't know, I swear I've posted something about it on one forum or another about once a week for the last year. |

nice one noted poopipe
paulius rescaled the rig for me (thanks dude but the problem i got now which i should have mentioned before is the face rig! lol i am a **** i know!!!! poop i know you know ya stuff when it comes to rigging etc mate. so do i even need to scale anything ? other wise i would really like to be able to scale the whole rig CAT/FACE/MESH with skin etc. will it cause problems that the character is only 27cm high when it comes to creating scenes and lighting if you know what i mean ? ive just realized ive posted this in wrong section it was meant to be in animation rigging sorry ![]() Last edited by needse; 12-04-2012 at 01:31 AM.. |

It might give you trouble with photometric lighting but im no expert with that stuff.
I can't see it being a major problem with anything else except that you'll have to adjust parameters to suit the actual scale. sss and ao will need smaller numbers for example. Scaling the face rig should be ok though - just scale its parent. |
