Murmillo

Hi,
this is an old work done with 2 friends for a community project. We done it in 3/4 days so the final result was not the most satisfactory.

For a senseless reason I decided to refine it and render a turntable for my reel. I hope that you help me to do my best with him

Just a few informations:
Guglielmo "Larsen" Rovere: hard surface and environment modeling
Francesco "XATMO" Sternativo: rigging
me: everything else []

I will not bore you with the previous versions of the model or every single step, so I will start from the present. Hopefully you can find much more pictures on my blog.

These are the last renders before start texturing

and these are the first two textured items [metals are still provisional]:
Belt

Shield

thanks in advance

Epic, I really like the worn detail on his armor.

Only crit I would have is that his body looks too clean, particularly his back. I imagine he would have some battle scars or even whip marks on his back.

Looks great, let's see some more of your work!

Sorry for the late response, I'm really too busy with my job and family.

First of all: thank you for your comment, really appreciated. But about the metal, as I said, is just provisional...till now.

This is the first approach about the helm:

Seams like there is too much blur in some detail, but I will fix in the final shot.

Still here [free time... where is my free time?]

This is the point:

next to do: cloth, gladius and skin. Then some tweaks here and there to fix materials.

note: area light samples are still too low. Will rise on final renders.

I think I'm really close, just some tweak here and there.

Looks really good. What I would change or tweak a bit would probably be the metal as it doesn't yet look spot on .

inside of the spaulder needs to be dirtied up to break up the monotony of noise in that one spot. It looks fantastic, excellent detail.
