tricky material. i cannot get it done in max 6

Hi all,

i have this material in my hand all day long. Now i would love to use this on a few geometries.

But i dont come close!

Can i genius look over it? I tried a v-ray aluminium. but i cant get it done. mybe i have to use a special noise or what so ever. OR a blur!

In 3dtotal's Max tutorial section there are a couple metal material tutorials, that might help you (one is near the top, the other at teh botton of the page).

use a normal metal/aluminium material, and play around the highlight brighness and experiment with speckle maps in both spec colour, glossyness and spec level and bump. not saying you should use the map in all those slots, but use them where it suits best for your material
